Interesting debate...may I enter into evidence Manu! She is a purchased (before my lbm) British blue shorthaired...short tail, legs and nose plus a love of water which I believe to be common to the breed.
Very expensive she was and got from a breeder - not something I experienced before and tbh didnt feel 100% comfortable with it having had moggies all my life but I dont regret getting here for a moment...she is a beautiful natured cat and very loving plus has a beautiful thick coat....yes there are medical issues with the breed and this was something I carefully considered when I got her but, unlike my moggies, I've only had to take her to the vet when she snapped a tooth!
So I'll just have to agree to disagree on the fooling with nature bit...each to their own eh!
Re the cat putting on weight mine now have wet in the am and then dried the rest of the day and you can get special indoor food. I use burns (google and they'll send you a free sample) and have noticed a difference in coat - more expensive but you use less of it. HTH?Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! lol she's gorgeous, my mate has three of these, lovely Cats. I love all animals, even if I don't agree with breeding animals with serious health problems. For example, I used to go to a place with work that had a real ugly Persian, a breed I think IMO look ugly, but he was the sweetest Cat ever & so lovely. I could never hate any animal, all are special. I do wish breeders would try to breed the faults out of the breed which I know some are trying to do.0

yup she's gorgeous and very chatty!! Its a question of personal taste though isnt it - dont like persians but my best mate says manu looks familiar to one and looks like she ran into the back of a bus cos of her grogeous squidgy nose!! Wouldnt like a sphynx myself as love to stroke their fur (very theraoeutic) but like tl love all animals...even cows which I'm scared of! Had I been more intelligent would have been a vet!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

Very excited, we are welcoming our two new additions to the family this week
However, I'm trying to decide which day is best. I'm out the house for the day on Thursday (the kids are at school all day during the week, but will also be at childminders) so I didn't know whether collecting them tomorrow evening would be best, it'll just be me that evening/night, then they'll have the day alone in the house. Or to collect thurs eve but then they'll have the kids all eve/night/morning, and me on friday. I didn't know if the quiet would help to settle them (obviously I'd have a friend pop in to give food/water/check on them).0
