Just tried 10k with one account - it didn't go through (said I had crossed the FP limit) - there were no other payments from my account that day.

Did an internal transfer to another equivalent account (Vantage) and the payment went through no problem.

    Go figure...

It always works with me on the online banking as well. I have not tried up to £10,000 yet.

If, as I suspect, you have 3 Vantage accounts, the available permutations often permit you to send high value FPs, by distributing the through the different accounts for payment.

    Hi Baldur
Up to now, for FP "sending" and "receiving" to other Banks I always use the same account (e.g. my first Vantage a/c). My personal reason is that it is easy to monitor money in and out as we just need to monitor 1 a/c.

Yes I have 3 Vantage a/c/ and I keep permutating internally among them from my eSaver, other Vantage internally to optimize the interest rate.

That is good to be aware that we could always use the the others two which will significantly limit the amount to be transferred. Up to now I have not had a need which require me to transfer more than £10,000 to external of Lloyds TSB.

This is not necessary, IME. Multiple payments upto £10K can out go from the same account on the same day - i.e. there are no silly '£10K per day' [RBS] or mysterious unexplained account specific blocks [Halifax] just on FPs

Remember that the FPS itself is light-years better than the service we receive through our individual bank access to it - £100,000 single payments, for instance, have been 'available' since September - yet no bank is prepared to let their customers move that much cash in one go.

There are daily account limits but they are certainly more generous than some - http://www.lloydstsb.com/internet_banking/payments.asp

£25,000? I've never actually got that high but today (for example) have just sent £10K+£10K+£1K+£1K+£1+250 - all as FPs. (So quite close!)

Kudos to LTSB for putting all the information out there, however, as that all customers really need from their bank.

  • I use faster payments a lot but today its not working the call centre tried blaming Nat West (the other bank) but the fault lies with Lloyds as I can not get past their earliest date 7th which is to late, the amount being transferred is more than they can go to on the phone so it looks like a round trip of 100 miles to solve the problem, not happy.
  • Working fine for me, maybe the call centre were correct?
In my experience they do all tend to blame each other when it goes wrong though!
