Lloyds TSB online faster payments

I use the faster payment service every two week to pay things as it never failed and that with Halifax part of the Lloyds Banking Group.0

After receiving yet another impersonal and unapologetic reply from LTB regarding the failure of their on-line FP service I have decided to move to First Direct whom I'm happy to report support both phone AND internet faster payments right up to £10K.
I suggest anyone else who also feels strongly about this do the same, moving current account is pretty easy these days.0 -

How much do you really lose with a BACS payment considering FD pay you 0% interest compared to up to 4%?0 -
What were you doing before fast payments? yeah why doesnt everyone move their account because of this! lol....0

I just tried to do a BACS fast payment from First Direct (by phone) to a building society and FD wanted £25 for it.0

That would be for a CHAPS not BACS payment.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
As far as I can see Lloyds (and other major banks plus Nationwide) are using every excuse possible to not progress the faster payment service.
They don't like losing the interest on the money I am sure). I bank with Lloyds and early on managed to make a couple of payments using this system, but only by using the Telephone Banking. The last 3 times I've tried it has been a no go. All sorts of excuses, "the system is playing up" or "there is a security problem" or "it won't go through". To-day I spent about half an hour on the phone going from pillar to post. Lloyds have a limit of £500 even when it is working which is not very often. They can move up to £10000 and I am sure they do so for some customers. As soon as I can find an alternative with a decent interest rate, it will be good-bye to Lloyds."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -

Moved from Halifax to LTSB last month and today is payday. Didn't realise that online Faster Payment wasn't available. Now my wife will have to go without for a couple of days. I'm used to halifax sending 1K within a couple of hours.
When I called to ask why, they said that the service had been pulled for 'security reasons'.
"So you're online service isn't secure enough to handle Faster Payments?"
"errr......."
I'll compromise as they pay 4% interest.0
