Be so very careful!!! Check your receipt before leaving the till. If there is a que DO NOT WORRY. I was overcharged today and they are not interested. OK it is a pound shop but, I am a younger pensioner and can't afford to be charged double on an item. I was told I should of checked my receipt before leaving. Is this the way they get their christmas bonus!!!!

With the change in VAT how can pound shops still exist?

Do you mean they should now be called 97.9p shops?
In the probably unlikely event that I actually post something of use to someone, an ickle vote of thanks would be much appreciated, in fact I might frame it and put it up on the wall next to my cycling proficiency certificate :D

  • Once I bought toaster bags from poundland....opened the pack at home and realised someone had nicked the bags from it. Why would you steal from a poundshop?

    What are toaster bags?

  • I remember a friend, ahem "borrowing" a chicken from Tesco. He had it underneath his coat, not too conspicuously.

As he got to the exit, the security guard stopped him.

"What do you think you're doing with that?" asked the guard?
    "with what" asked my friend.
"That chicken there. What do you think you are doing with it?"
"Oh", said my friend, "I thought some roast potatoes and parsnips would be nice".

    Bum bum!

Sensible answer - toaster bags are bags which you put in your toaster to make cheese toasties. You put a cheese sarnie (or whatever your poison may be) in the toaster bag, then put it in the toaster and it comes out as a lovely toastie without any mess!
