Be so very careful!!! Check your receipt before leaving the till. If there is a que DO NOT WORRY. I was overcharged today and they are not interested. OK it is a pound shop but, I am a younger pensioner and can't afford to be charged double on an item. I was told I should of checked my receipt before leaving. Is this the way they get their christmas bonus!!!!

It annoys me when things like this happen.
I was once give change of a fiver instead of a tenner which I noticed as soon as I got to the door.
The assistant simply shrugged at first, but I got the manager do to a check and it turned out the till was down by £15 or so. The manager then said I could not have possibly been short changed. I replied that all it proven was poor management and that the ill could have been down a fiver more before I walked in.
I got the correct change eventually though. Oh and by the way, if I am given more change than needed, I do tell the staff and give it back. No double standards for me!0 -
That reminds me of when I was in BHS a few years ago.
Paid for my item with a £10 note and the assistant gave me change for a £20 note.
I instantly said "My change is wrong" (so damn honest, didn't even hesitate about telling her!)
She retorted, very rudely, "No it's not, I don't make mistakes like that!"
"Fair enough!" I replied whilst pocketing the change and sauntering out smiling!I'm a Nanny again! 23rd April 2012
Elijah arrived 7 weeks early, 4lb 6.5ozs struggling a bit but in neo natal so well looke after!

Carmella arrived 7 weeks early, 4lb 11ozs and doing well in Neo natal :j0 -
Short changing can happen in any shop. It's likely to be down to a mistake or sneaky shop worker.
Check your change in every shop, not just Poundland......0 -
i couldn't think of an easier store to spot you have been overcharged in0

Lol, how true!
Seriously, I love the Pound shop, in addition many items are BOGOFs. However, in a pile of such items, only those bearing a separate sticker qualify. Other, identical items without the sticker (you do assume some get missed off) are worth only one for a pound.;) Weird.0 -
Once I bought toaster bags from poundland....opened the pack at home and realised someone had nicked the bags from it. Why would you steal from a poundshop?0

Yes it is an easy shop but, when there are many people around at this time of the year it is easy to get distracted. And, I will say my maths are ok but, just didn't check this time. Won't make the same mistake again. Once bitten!!!!!0

to prove that they can steal without being caught?lol
Seriously though I know someone who, when their mental health problems flare up, they have cliptomaniac(sp) tendancies and they surprise themselves with what has ended up in their pockets, with genuinely no recollection of it ever going into their pockets! Not excusing the fact that stealing is wrong, just saying that it takes alsorts to make the world go around and some things aren't black and white. If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!0 -
