    okay here whats happening

I enter the search word (google Uk)
    barrister..comes up with search as
    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=barrister&btnG=Search&meta=cr%3DcountryUK%7CcountryGB

i click on first link "The bar council". It goes on the browser bar via abcsearch.com then takes me to a webpage with address:
    http://www.business.com/directory/law/law_firms/

tried cineworld....clicked on google search..then this time i get a !!!!!! website via a website dvd-explorer at the top. Going back to the google search and pressing it again takes me to another website this time loopylove.com.

get the same problems with yahoo search engine.
Seems like i have some adtrackingh/search software running on my pc.

I have run ad-adware; spybot seach & destroy: MS spyware: a-squared; AVG antivirus and have zone alarm fire wall.
  • I get nothing like that. Have you tried following the advice in the Remove Malware sticky?

Sounds like a BHO infection. Run HiJack This (link in sticky) and post your results.

    TOG
    604!
  • Could you download this http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/autoruns.html

run it, click on the IE tab, note down the Browser helper objects, and post back.

Alternatively, download hijackthis, and post results (not a fan of doing this, as it makes finding fixes to spyware difficult for googlers, as all you can find nowadays is a long list of hijackthis logs when searching for a spyware name)

    Have you ever used regedit?
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
  • also look to see if any of these files are on your PC

    snbupt.exe
    tbinstall.exe
    unist2.exe
    wdskctl.exe
    redzip.exe

if they are, delete them, if you can't kill them in task manager, also check the autoruns screens for any mention of them
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
  • if you have this, instructions for removal are here:

    http://articles.networktechs.com/395-p1.php

autoruns can kill the run lines in the registry..

EDIT: just noticed I'm giving conflicting advice to TOG (not the first time, hehe).

To stop you being confused, follow TOGs advice..
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
