You sound as though you have a really good employer there.

Well sometimes it's a bore, and a chore but basically i can do my work and go home... all the while posting on here most of the day too! so yes, i can't complain, although company owner can be a scary man at times, but mostly i'm under his radar...

i'm very happy with that, plus i got £1000 in august after 1 years service, so has bumped my salary to £20,500 for the year...technically...

yes i'm lucky... and will be wise with it. i promise DFW-ers!

I'm back! Went with no hitches. Spent the hour deciding what to do with the mince I've got out of the freezer (cottage pie!) and thinking about this display table for the open day.

Maz - it would be good to have some prep. time, but unfortunately, that's the way it works for teaching adults - it's an hourly rate just for the teaching. As I repeat any courses, the only prep. time is to tweak from last time and do fresh handouts, which is probably an hour's time max. Museums want some casual staff to do story telling, crafts and cookery with visiting school groups, probably weekends/evenings. £11 an hour, I might stick in a form, just to throw my hat in the ring, I'm hoping that at some point, something on a higher hourly rate will start to cancel something else out , if you see what I mean.

£1000 is an amazing bonus - nice one!!!

Jinks - good to see you back 'proper' ;)

Maz, thats fantastic...its nice to be appreciated. Don't bother getting any more qualifications :rotfl: you are on more than me now 'technically'.

I have had a minor meltdown this afternoon, and was almost jacking in my studying. For all my revising I am still slow at learning and remembered this afternoon why i didn't go onto higher education.

Its not helped by !!!!!! of a OH who thinks I am his PA!

I've opened the case of 12 advent calendars from ethical superstore :D

All I've done so far is open number 1 on 1 calendar and eat 1 chocolate :A

I can't decide whether to (tonight) eat 12 x numbers 1,2,3,4 and then eat 12 chocolates a day to Christmas  , eat a whole advent calendar roughly every 2 days  or just tear them all open like a 6 year old and pour all the choccies into a big bowl! :rotfl:

I normally hate choccy advent calendars and have my wooden one with the toys on my desk, but Ithink this year, i'll make an exception as they were such a bargain :T

(I might even keep a couple back as they are best before november 2009 - they will keep for next Christmas..........yeah, right.............:rotfl: )

LOL -BB............I am imagining a whole row of 12 advent calenders in your house with doors 1-4 open:rotfl: My kids would love 12 advent calenders each.

I wont be around much over the next few days as we are off to Wigan to see SIL for the Christmas visit.................plan to not have much to drink as OH and I always seem to end up fighting when we are there, we have put it down to misdirected rage:rolleyes:

I went for the mad, foiling tearing, random chocolate pulling out option of 1 of the calendars! They are all heart shaped choccies whic wouldmake nice decorations on a cake. Those which didn't fall victim to 'my mouth' are in a dish in the fridge.

Tomorrow though, who knows how I may tackle the remaining 11?! :rotfl:

I am on a half day training course tomorrow about the appraisal scheme. Complete waste of time as I've spent years working in an appraisal culture, but I guess it's a change to going into the office.
