    REMOVE BABYLON SEARCH Redirect virus
This affects Firefox, Chrome and IE

    In FireFox -
In the search box - click on the icon and then remove in "Manage Search Engines"
Menu - Firefox, Options, general, Home Page = change to your required ie www.google.com

To remove Babylon from search in address bar

    1- type about:config

2-type babylon in search and hit enter

Right click on each entry and reset

There are about 30 entries that need to be reset.

Found that there are at least 2 folders with babylon in the name in C:\Users\Your_User_Name\AppData\

    C:\Users\Your_User_Name\AppData\Local\babylon
    C:\Users\Your_User_Name\AppData\Roaming\babylon

    Delete these folders

    Run CCleaner
Registry - scan and fix issues
Run Malware Bytes - Perform Full Scan
    Fix Issues

    DONE

    Hi,

My sister has Windows Active Guard on her pc and I am about to talk her through post 1 to 4.

Can someone clarify please is post 1 to 4 for any Windows pc, my sister has Vista or 7. Does posts 1 to 4 still apply for her?

When processing posts 1 to 4 should she be in safe mode?

To get safe mode on a laptop do you just press F8 from the start?

    Many thanks

    Amanda

If you've still got problems, start a new topic and post a DDS log.

Download DDS from the link below and save it to your desktop:

    Link

After you've downloaded it and saved it to your desktop:
    • Double click DDS to run it.
    • When it's finished, DDS will open two logs:
    1. DDS.txt
    2. Attach.txt
Save both reports to your desktop.

Copy & paste the contents of just DDS.txt for now and post it here (you may need to split the log over separate posts)
