    Bella ~
Start a new thread please. But your computer is definitely infected
Update and run a FULL Malwarebytes scan
    http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html
Post the log file in your new thread

Reboot and post another hijack in it also

Also, your AVG is out of date. Id suggest AVAST or AVIRA in place of it.

You seemed to have missed "or failing that setting spybot et al to scan at boot". And I don't remember posting "reinstalling Windows" as a first option, ever!

Sorry, someone did I thought. Anyway, the virus had complete control. It wouldn't let AVG finish (or rather made it seem like it had finished ok but it was too quick). When a virus has that much control a boot disk is the ONLY answer. The virus will let nothing run that is harmful to it. I guess there may be a really obscure anti virus program out there that it wouldn't recognise but there is what, <20 common anti-virus programs to recognise and neuter. Malware is getting very clever. A boot disk is the only sure way and is something to have in reserve when all simple measures fail.

I think I have had fool's luck so far, really. I'm not terribly knowledgeable about computeres save for what I have picked up on this forum over the last 3 years, but I have three lappies, all with AVG, Kerio, superantispyware, spybot, ad-aware and malwarebytes - all of which I update and run at least once a week (AVG I update daily). Never had any problems except lots of spam emails but I can live with that.

    Oh-oh... now that I've said it... :o
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

    Malware bits not working?

I have tried many times to do a malware scan, but everytime I click in the link, it instals it onto my computer and then finishes (install, click, immediate next page finish, click, whole thing has vanished).

I also have searched for it on my computer, found it, opened it and it just does the same thing. According to the second post, I should be doing a scan...I can't seem to get the user interface up, its just all windows own popups asking me to run...install...finish.

    Am I doing this right?

Are you SURE its not installed on your computer jennie?
Should be under 'MALWAREBYTES ANTI MALWARE'
There should also be a new desktop icon to click (Sounds to me like you just keep installing over the top)
