Also I picked up lots of boxes of sugared almonds in sales for 10p each which i will be putting into cello cones and tying with a nice pastel ribbon and gift tag.
Also thinking of making some individual mini fruit cakes for the adults and then icing and decorating, before wrapping in cello. For kids will be doing easter bunny gingerbreads and icing/decorating then putting in cello bags.
That should sort out most of my easter gifts at very little cost:j
Love the daffodil idea so going to nick that one if that's ok. I bought daffodil bulbs cheap in Home Bargains a few months ago and never got round to planting them in my garden - I can stick them in pots instead and give them away! I have empty plant pots too, and tissue paper!
Would I need to keep them in a dark place until they start to grow? Sorry, I'm not a gardener at all! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
hi
does anybody know where i can get the pattern for the knitted easter chicks on the first page. they are just what i were given as a child but threw them away (ungrateful i know) and wanted to make them for my kids.

I'm just putting mine in pots and putting out in garden - they will grow just fine.:D I also have a huge bag of bulbs that I never got around to planting but will be doing it tomorrow or soon it will be too late.0 -

As an alternative to pots for the daffodils I have seen some lovely handpainted tin cans which would look lovely with daffodils planted in them.
These would be easy to do- clean tin cans thoroughly then paint using acrylic paints, tie a nice bit of ribbon around the top or garden twine with some small ornamental garden tools , you can get these in some craft shops.
-For those making Easter Shakes, have you thought about making your own marshmallows? You can find plenty of recipes using google and add your chosen drops of food colouring.
I`m going to be making the shredded wheat choc nests with mini eggs, little felt egg cosies and some bunny flannels with handmade soap inside.
I`ll also be sending my best friend and her little boy some Easter Cones- same as snowman soup but hot choc, marsmallows and mini eggs in cello cones tied with raffia and a little chic for decoration, and some choc slabs personalised one for my friends little boy and a swirly one for my friend.

I`m also making an Easter Tree this year using a twig branch from the florists and making my own easter ornaments to hang from it. Some ideas for the ornaments are gingham bows and decorated polystrene eggs with ribbon and beads.

I think I'm going to do daffodils in pots, bunny broth, flannel bunnies, biscuits and chocolate easter nests are a must in our house!
Will also make Easter cards and maybe some cross stitch ones if I have the time. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
