I used someone else's listing detail - is it against the rules?

Yup
it took me ages to work it out myself.

My girlfriend has just had the exact same problem. someone has stolen her image and description. The annoying thing is she customises her item so it wasn't a stock image. It has resulted in people who had offered her money to finish her auction early buying this other persons listing and hers not meeting the reserve
I just hope ebay do something about this 0 -
I have used photos etc from other auctions before (esp. when I didn't have a digital camera). I always asked them if it was okay and said I wouldn't put my auction on till theirs had finished. Most people were happy to let me use theirs.0

AS sellers assume responsibility for their listings, if you use someone ele's info how do you know it is correct? If it's wrong you don't have a leg to stand on. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I know this is off topic, but Blinko... your signature is terrible. If you have a problem with some individuals harrassing you on the forums, then you should speak to the mods about them. But no matter what, their nationality/religion should not be an issue. I'm not an Israeli, but I must say I find the message pretty offensive in itself, bordering on anti-semitism. This isn't the place for that kind of sentiment.0
