hey basically has anyone heard of PCS (premier control security) i parked in mcdonalds because i was feeling dizzy nd ill so i parked in the mcdonalds to go to the local shop to get some water when i came back there was two parking tickets on my dash £50 each, one for leaving the car park without my veichle and one for unauthorised parking, dont they cancel each other out?. i sent a appeal stating that i was ill and they said that my appeal had been refused and i have a further 14 days to pay £100 and the letter was dated 18/feb and i received it today so its already past the 14 days, thats not really fair ether, do i pay or not?
There is no appeal procedure with these people, as you have found out.
Just ignore everything they send, and have a good read on this forum about private parking companies and how their scam works.0 -
Received a Parking Charge Notice with two pics of my car (one going in and one going out of the car park) with times on it.
The fine is £60 but will go up to £100 if not paid within 14 days.
I have read quite a bit about the subject, with the majority of advice saying ignore all letters from the PPC.
The photos on the letter are not clear and one only shows the bonnet of the car so identifying the driver from these would be difficult.
I have two questions:
1. I was waiting in the car with the engine running in a parking space. Can I still be charged for this even if it states it in the terms and conditions on site (don't know if it says this or not)?
2. I remember a parking attendant walking around near my car at the time (mainly behind). Are PPCs known to take photos of people in the car in order to identify them if required? If so, how could they say it was me (the driver of the vehicle) if they do not have photographic ID of me?0 -

Don't worry yourself over all those "technicalities". As usual the advice is just ignore, don't contact the parking company and ignore all correspondence from them. You have done nothing wrong and you have not broken any laws.
And by the way it's not a "fine", it's an unenforceable invoice. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Hi all
I unfortunately got a parking charge recently for £100, or £70 if pay promptly. I was a few mins late for car, and even saw the parking officer walk back to his car after taking photos of my car.
He wouldnt let me explain and just drove off. He wrote down that the ticket was issued at a time that was before I got back (!) so I sent the company a long email explaining this was unfair and that I was 5 mins over the ticket time, but I was still 5 mins within their 10 minute "fair overtime" limit. I knew about this 10 min time limit as i found out about it from one of their employees.
The fact that I spoke to their employee and also sent an email makes me wonder if I have ballsed up and will this cause me problems? After reading this info, it sounds like i should have made no contact at all. Do you think they could use my initial contact against me? Will this be seen as acceptance of the "contract"?
Should I still continue to not pay and ignore, or take the aggressive stance that 5 mins over isnt worth £100 and say I'll see them in court?
Any advice gratefully received!
thanks0 -
Just ignore and don't contact them again. Contacting them initially won't make any difference.
Please don't dignify the person who gave you the ticket by calling him an "officer". In reality he is just a low-paid drone working for a scam company. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

Well, you should do all of that:
not pay and
ignore and
take the [STRIKE]aggressive[/STRIKE] sensible stance that 5 mins over isn't worth £100.
...and you won't see them in Court anyway because they won't actually attempt it.
Threatograms are their tactic, it's a method which works for them because sadly it seems that most people get scared when the letters arrive alluding to Court and CCJs - and they just pay up. In your case, you know better now so you will be among the percentage that they won't pursue after they have exhausted their stock of red ink and debt collector notepaper on you.
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

thanks guys, i will do as you just say. I guess i'm just worried that my letter will be seen as acceptance of a contract, which is where they might think it's worth taking further. Although i hope they'd see that if - and i know thats a very minor if according to you all - they took me to small claims court, they'd have to prove £100 is a fair charge for 5 minutes.
can anyone confirm there is no chance this would affect any credit rating?
thanks :-)
ps. what a great things these forums are!!0 -
For it to affect your credit rating it would have to go to court ( very unlikely), you lose (very, very unlikely) and then you refuse to pay whatever the judge orders. So just relax. It will be OK.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Hello, I've taken great comfort from reading this forum and replies from a previous posting. I have, however, just received a letter from debt collectors (CCS debt collectors - Re: private parking ticket) saying that they will visit my home in the next 72 hours to "Obtain payment or agree a payment with you/ Investigate your home situation prior to recommending court action". Is this normal threatening practice that I've read about on this forum or do you think I should be worried?0
