I have noticed that several private parking companies use the phrase "illegal parking" when talking about private car-parks. Over the last couple of days I have emailed three PPCs asking them what particular part of statute law they are referring to. Up to now none of them have had the good manners to reply to me. I wonder why?

Igonore, ignore some more then sling them a deafy (ignore).
They will send a few letters threatening all sorts of court , legal and debt collection action, send you a letter from a DCA, ignore the lot and they will give up.

It's not a "fine" (it's an unenforceable invoice). Also blue badges have no legal standing in private car-parks. In fact you were not doing anything wrong. You are disabled and have made use of the facilities provided for people like you. For a parking company to restrict these spaces only to blue badge holders is actually a breach of the DDA.

From now on ignore any correspondence from the company and do not contact them.

    tommy,
    Please just ignore this company.
They will write several letters all of which should all be safely filed in a folder and then ignored.
If they are foolish enough to issue real court papers they are doomed, I swear it.
Rest assured that much wrath and the full weight of the law would decend upon them as a consequence.

Tommy, you are disabled therefore there is no question that you are entitled to park there, as others have said, blue badges mean nothing on private land so they cannot insist on you displaying one.

But don't waste your breath arguing with the firm, just ignore their attempt to extort money from you - they will go away. Here's the proof, example letters that the registered keeper of the car will receive from UKPC and its agents:

    UKPC:
    (credit: steevie_b/Crabman)

    Ticket on windscreen

    First Letter

    First 'Final Reminder'

    Letter from Roxburghe 'debt collectors'

    Letter from 'Graham White solicitors'

    Yet another Final Warning

    'Debt Purchased' Letter
(appears to be a new tactic)

Spend some time now, clicking on each blue link to see each letter, and as the matching letter chain starts to arrive then just smile knowingly and tick each letter off in your head. Don't actually read them when you get the originals, they mean nothing. Don't reply to them.

But if Graham White Solicitors phone up (they sometimes try this and they are not official or legit, just a pain like any debt collector) then either put the phone down each time or tell them they are mistaken, there is no debt as you are disabled so could park there and that's the end of the matter. State it as a matter of fact, something that is not up for discussion - and don't speak further, don't talk about blue badges, don't go on the defensive.

If they keep phoning then say you will report them under the Protection from Harassment Act and the Disability Discrimination Act. Both of which are completely legitimate Acts which do apply to your circumstances and under which you COULD certainly report them.

You can ignore all the letters I have shown. Don't pay these con-merchants.
