    Superb KMKMKM
I work as an estimator in the Electronics industry and an LCD should in theory be cheaper than CRT so the while the manufacturers recover their development costs indeed you should stick to the CRTs.

I suspect there's some truth it that due to the huge variations in price that there seem to be on similar sized screens.

As someone who works in TV studios, there is still nothing to compare with the quality of a good CRT screen - plasmas and LCDs just don't cut it yet. That's why almost all studios still use CRT's as they are the truest pictures and CRT's last for a looong time.

As the CRT prices drop - bring it on!

Simon, I agree with what you say, thought of course LCD's are the only form on HD screen available right now. Do you think LCD's will never get better than CRTs? I've heard talk of LED and other thin screen technologies

Sony KV28HX15 28in Flat Widescreen TV.

Hey if you're not sure about "digihome" what about a Sony at £205 delivered in the Argos sales. Apparently reduced from £350. No stand though.

I'd guess the £50 extra would give the extra peace of mind that the digihome wouldn't..

I can't get the full range of British freeview channels & Irish TV are still broadcasting in analogue only - so this suits just fine.

It was out of stock last week too, but I signed up for an email reminder when it came back into stock. Last Friday I got an email from Argos saying it was available again so I ordered one. Arrives Wednesday.

I think it's inevitable that the technology will get better. In ten years we could be faced with unbelievable lcd/plasma/or whatever screens. But as at this moment, unless you have to be the first with the newest, I'd stick with a CRT. I worked in a mobile control room last year that HAD been fitted with all LCD screen and they were awful. Lots of lag on the picture and nowhere near the crispness of a standard monitor.
