I was given a gorgeous charm bracelet for my b'day after my baby was born. The bracelet was from hubby and a charm from my little one. Its this one and I love it http://www.linksoflondon.com/online-shop/women/bracelets/291-sweetie-bracelet-medium.
I'm going to get new charms to add to it for various occasions etc. I've already added a charm with my baby's fingerprint on it from here http://www.smallp.co.uk/products/charm_plus_bracelet_new.php
  • My baby is 7 months old now but i loved a long pillow to try get comfy at night. The sort that is almost as long as your body.

You could buy some Lush products as they are heaven to relax in a bath with (do check with staff first tho as some contain essential oils as she is pregnant). the bath melts and bubble bars are really luxurious.

Has she got a ipod?? If not you could get her one, add her fave music on ideal for relaxing now and also for the birth.

Also i loved my hypnotherapy CD and use to listen to it in the bath and it use to really relax me, i bonded with baby and helped during the birth too. Would really recommended that.

    Rikki,
If DH gave me a pillow for Christmas he'd be wearing it very tightly over his face or else served with divorce papers! Presents should be the treats in life that we never buy ourselves because we always put others needs above our own, they should never be practical boring necessities!

Ok I'm liking the bracelet idea - but im a typical man and rubish at picking out these things.... any bracelet in paticular?

Obviously there are plenty of traditional charm bracelets but if she would like something alternative/contempory you may like to look at troll beads (google it for web site). Various price points to choose from.

By the way I think it so lovely that you are going to so much trouble to get something special.;)

Ooh I just stumbled across this thread & I'm loving the troll beads!!

I also think it is wonderful you are putting in so much effort. I was due on 28th Dec 2006 (DD didn't turn up until 10th Jan but that's another story!) & my partner didn't do anything special for my very pregnant Christmas but I secretly wish he had. He's not very good at romantic/thoughtful/sentimental although he is trying to improve.

EDIT: Maybe I'll point him in the direction of this thread!!

Hate to say this re the foot spa but some of them have 'not to be used while pregnant' warnings. The foot soaking is fine, but some of the massaging ones there is a risk of stimulating reflexology points and prem labour

I'd definitely agree with the jewellery suggestions, my mum still has jewellery she was given by my dad when she was expecting my brothers and me.Charm bracelets are especially good as you can add a new charm for any wee brothers and sisters in the future.
ETA- not rings though, as womens fingers can swell during pregnancy!

    Mr Moo, hello to yoo......(sorry!)
I think Mrs Moo is a lucky lady!

How about (if you can arrange it) an I.O.U. for a day about 3 months after little Moo arrives as follows: (You know what you'd both enjoy)

Grandparent, trusted friend, etc to come and baby-moo sit.
The 2 of you spend a day or evening together, just the 2 older Moos
Remember to tell her how sexy and gorgeous she is - candles are good, and it will give you both a break from nappies, and general baby stuff, which whilst lovely, can get on top of you both by then.

Love the bracelet idea too if this is tricky to do - I know not everyone has people to hand who they trust enough.

    Best of luck:)

  • Hi

If you are thinking of something symbolic to do with the baby my husband bought me a lovely pendant after we had our daughter. It is called a plus one pendant - you can google to find the people who make them. The basic idea is that you add a gemstone to represent the child, in later years if you ever have more children you can have them add more stones to the pendant. You can get the diamonds, or either pink or blue stones to represent boys or girls.
I really love my pendant it has great sentimental value.
Hope you wife likes whatever you decide on.
    Lauren
