Hi,
This month have been focusing on paying off the 200 pound overdraft that I somehow managed to run up last month. Have managed this so can now concentrate all my efforts to paying of my Tesco loan. I really hate this loan as they dont allow overpayments. So my plan is to save the money in my ISA until I have enough to pay it all off. To do this before Sept I will need about 1000 a month. Myself and OH have signed up to deliver poll cards so will be busy doing this over the next week. Last year we made about 700 doing this so that will be a good start. I keep having to remind myself that 2 years ago I was paying over 700 a month in debt repayments, so this final push to finally be debt free will be well worth it in the end. Well done to everyone. :T0 -
Work is non existant at the moment, i had an interview which went well but i havent had a letter or phone call yet and they said the lastest id know is the middle of this week
so i think its bad news. So i had to withdraw cash out on my cc to make a payment so my debt paid off today is £192.89 i guess its coming down which is good but if i dont have any work its all going to start going in the wrong direction. Anywho off to update what i have paid off.
Due to budget cuts the light at the end of the tunnel will be switched off.

Hi folks
I am more or less a newbie to this part of the forum, so hello to everyone.;)
Hope I'm in the right part lol.
Anyway, we had rang the CCCS a few weeks back with our details, as hubby lost job before christmas, due to masses of job losses, and I care full time for my son with Autism, basically we have a few unsecured debts, but have to have that extra money to pay the mortgage every month, as the insurance is swallowed by the overdraft and the insurance does not last forever.
So we are looking into putting 2 unsecured loans and the overdraft into DWP, we are not sure what direction we are going yet, but we have the appointment where they are calling us this Thursday to put an action plan into place.
We have already given the CCCS the details of the debts, so we think and hope this is the appointment to get the ball rolling.
Please can anyone tell me of the procedures who have been through the CCCS?
A new bank account has also been recently opened with Abbey National, where normally its Lloyds TSB.
I hear Lloyds are not the easiest to deal with, when we tried to make a payment on the mortgage while this is being sorted out, we asked if we can just pay half of the unsecured loan payments as the mortgage is more priority.
We did not get the chance to stop this coming out, they made sure they taken out the full loan repayments, which left us with less for the mortgage....so it was not the full amount, we have 3 months arrears, and lloyds/Chelt & Glos would not help either when asked if we could go to interest on a short term only, because they said about the arrears.
We would not have asked for this if we did not have arrears, but all their media info that they will help and support people in financial difficulties is so mis leading and so far they have not followed the protocol.
However, with a bit of luck hubby will soon be in new employment, can't wait.
We are living on JSA (income based) and me with the Carer's allowance.
I look forward to your feedback folks, thanks so much indeed.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I was just thinking that we hadn't had any updated totals recently, actually...
Perhaps if I get bored enough later, I'll tot up the totals. No promises though.Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -

Hi Jess - I don't think you've been allocated a number. Am I right in saying that your start debt for this challenge is £3,975.50?Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
Hi di30004
ithink you might be better posting a new thread on the DFW board as I think you would get more people posting who have had similiar experiences to you. They will also be able to advise you on CCCS. This is more of a thread to challenge yourself to pay your debts off before the end of 2009 and to give each other support in achieving that goal. I hope this helps.Mortgage free 25/9/2019 8years and 7 months early 😁😁😁0
