  • Grrrr, I'm annoyed. And I'm pretty certain it isn't my fault.

I bought some games from a website and paid using Paypal. Now, one game was for me and the other for a friend, and the money to pay for them was in 2 seperate accounts, so the easiest thing for me to do was pay using my credit card, then pay the amounts from each bank account straight off the credit card. And that's what I did, or so I thought. Turns out Paypal are claiming I paid it from my bank. Which took me overdrawn, refused 2 standing orders (for a total of £3) and charged me £78 for the pleasure. So now I'm skint, and have had to get an advance from work. Something I was trying to avoid for 2009.
  • On a good note, I'm now sub 5K. I'll update siggy in a mo.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. Not sure how Paypal take payment but do they maybe have a default of going to your registered bank? Not sure if you can change that. But how frustrating. And how mean to charge so much for such a small amount. Might be worth ringing your bank and pleading mistake.... a bit of grovelling and they sometimes reduce the charge.

I'm going to the bank this afternoon anyway. I'm going to explain and see if I can make an indemnity claim, as it counts as a direct debit and it is my belief that Paypal took it in error.

Evanesco - paypal automatically takes from your bank card/bank account I'm afraid, is there anyway of transferring the monies back from the CC and explaining to the bank what happened (you never know they may drop the charges - they did for me when the same thing happened!)
