Feeling like I'm not moving at the mo (can't do much until I know what monies spare in a few weeks), but its still early in the month I suppose. Just paid £165 for car tyres and car tax due too this month :(

Well done everyone - and don't worry Skint_Catt - I'm in the same boat this month - can't do any extra payments as I have had lots of expenses on the car etc. I'm sure we'll pick up next month!

Hello paid £487.78 off of my debts today but thats due to my car finance not taking payment in previous months so i rang them up and they took the 2months payments today and £20 off of a credit card, looks like my winnings came in handy! so thats £487.78 off of the total :D
Due to budget cuts the light at the end of the tunnel will be switched off.

  • Our new credit card finally arrived today which meant that we could finally get the rest of our credit card debt on a 0% deal. I have paid a payment today but this was to 'tread water' with our balance. Our total is actually £2-75 more than my signature. It's been a small step backwards, but a giant one in the right direction. Hopefully the £60+ we'll save in interest, will make a real difference and the total will start shifting now.

Our debt now is - £5004.96 - 0% cards for next 9 months split over 2 cards
    - £2912.00 - 7.9% apr car loan

My plan to to continue paying into my regular savings account (the max £500 allowed) every month until it expires on the 14/6/09. We've already got £500 in there, so this will give us £3000 (and ?? interest) to clear the car and a chunk off the cards too. We plan to pay the minimum on DH card and concentrate on mine and pay as much as possible. After my card has been cleared it's just DH left, which will finger's crossed be gone my end of July!

Sorry to waffle, but it's nice to share our plan because it's helping us stay focused and motivated. Things are finally falling into place and hopefully with 6 more pay days we'll be Debt free. It's always good to have a plan and I'd love to know how everyone else is planning to reach their target.

  • Evening all.

Most bills are in, and my snowball updated. Since they've not been actually paid yet, I won't update my total. I have estimated my percentage paid and it says 17.16% :T

Not bad, since I haven't overpaid this month. Might struggle a bit next month due to changes in housing benefit, but I'll balance out. I need to repay the O/D, since this isn't counted in our total debt. I did intend to do this in Feb, but may have to juggle the budget sheet to allow for HB changes. We won't be short, just no overpayments as planned.
  • hey everyone,

worrying day at work thought today....we are a large company and all branches throughtout uk are being called into a meeting, al planned for the sametime. Hopefully i will still have my job later to continue making payments
