  • Just popped by with a quick update about a couple of payments made so far this month ...... £232.61 PAID OFF IN DEC.

It would have been more but due to doing BT onto 0% card our total went up rather than down. How annoying it that? Our current debt stands at £8585.50 and I'll be able to pay some more off when I move some more money across from Germany, hopefully about £750 extra. I'm looking forward to catching up with the thread and seeing how everyone is getting on. I've not read it since about 6-7 so I've got a bit of reading to do.

Good to see you BB Bunny and welcome aboard - Mizmir will add you to the list when she is back but in the meantime just join in! I am guessing you will be making some payments on the above this month but will start overpaying in February?

    Hi Dragon

I'm going to be doing my usual payments to all the debts in my signature during January. As of Feb I'll be able to take larger chunks off these :j and once they are done, I will start overpaying my loan (not listed in my sig) once the CC's etc are gone!!

Sorry for being so confusing!! :)

wow - brilliant - well done! But - how much of that have I already included....?? (have been including the reports you've given!).
Will see if I can work it out! (unless you know the answer!)

£2532.85 paid off in the past couple of weeks - big chunk of expenses came in! Not off my main debt but clears the expenses cards which is great.

Welcome to our newcomers and congratulations on all those payments. Back from Christmas visiting now and it is going to be all systems go to getting things sorted in 2009. Not to want to scare you but between the 63 of us signed up here we have committed to paying off over HALF A MILLION pounds of debt!! Yikes! BUT since we started the challenge (less than a month ago) we have collectively cleared more than £15K - and I know for many getting through Christmas has been the main aim with the serious debt busting starting the New Year. So that is pretty amazing. Well done everyone.

If we are going to hit it all we need to clear £42606 a month next year! Quite a challenge - but we can do it - and we'll definitely have to be sure to record every penny we pay. I don't mind if you do that as you make a payment - or if you report in monthly - whatever suits you - but please make it clear how much I should be adding to the total paid.

Good luck everyone - I am really excited about this now.

I'm also hoping to be debt free in 2009, but I won't join this challenge at the moment, as Mr Lewis only lets me have six lines in my signature :D

Hopefully nobody minds if I drop by and chip in from time to time? I'm hoping to make full and final settlement offers to the value of about 70% of my debts come the summer, which might not be exactly in the spirit of things :o

No doubt I'll join the challenge in 2010 if this fails!

Drop in whenever you like edinburgher - and if you get the F&F settlement sorted we can have a party to celebrate!

Thanks mizmir - I'll have a party too, but probably a fairly frugal one after I empty all my savings pots :D
