  • Can you add me to this one please. As of 1st Dec my debt to clear was £5,546.15. I want to ideally do it by next Xmas. I'm sure I can, with you lot to keep me on track.
  • Morning All,
Could I please be added to the list? I'd like to clear my 9.5k debt and have at least 5k saved in the bank by Xmas 09. I'm on a DMP so I'll have to save all spare cash in a different savings account and whack it off the debt when it's built up. My OH pays me £500 per month as his half of the rent, but my DMP is set up as if I pay all the bills, so I'm going to start stashing his money away and hopefully clear as much debt as possible with reduced final settlements!! Gonna be selling everything I own on amazon/ebay as well!!

Debt as at Feb 14: £2272.40

Welcome evanesco and SiannieLaz - you've been added to the list! We now have 30 people who are aiming to be debt free next year and out of the clutches of the CC and loan companies! :T

Well done frasersmum on your payment - you are currently holding the prize for most regular payer. Really love your principle of little and often - it all helps and shows that dealing with debt is not about finding big chunks of money (though we'd all like that!) but about using all those smaller chunks that are so easy to just spend as we have a tendency to think they don't make a difference. But of course they do! So thanks. :A
  • Ah, that would be my Payment a Day principle - I am a regular on the PaD thread, and cant recommend it highly enough!
    Moving on up :o SPC #382 ~ £40 banked
    12k in 2016 #15. £541.91/£3000

  • Hi mizmir and all.

Can i please be included - really want 2009 to be the year i sort all my debt out and this will help.

I'm on the 20K by xmas 2009 thread but this will make me want to pay all that i owe off.
  • After Xmas, when I'm a bit more financially stable (I'll have cleared 2 mini debts by January) I think I'm going to go with the PaD principal. My problem is I'll try and save the spare bits and make a huge payment at the end of the month, but come the end of the month, it's all gone, I've spent it, and on rubbish too. So, in February, which is when my challenge really, truly will start, I want to pay a total of £250 off my Vanquis card, I'm going to pay 27 x £6.81, plus 1 x £66.00 (which is the minimum, and is generally due at the beginning of the month.) Much more manageable.

    That sounds like a plan!

This is really taking hold! I love the idea of hitting the loan and CC companies where it hurts (mwahahahahahah!)
