Car hire Mallorca advice.

Just back from Mallorca - booked car for a week through doyouspain. They now have a "charge for full tank, bring back back empty" policy (through AurigaCrown), was "bring it back at the same level" a couple of years ago.0

Jammin your figures ignore the question of excesses. Holidayautos charge £2.75 per day for a zero excess. You get this without charge with AutoEurope. That makes their £42 for a KA marginally the better deal even after taking into cashback unless you already have a zero excess insurance policy.0

EDIT: you're right, apt. Auto Europe looks very good indeed. £42.31 for a KA for 3 days, so same as Holiday Autos, yet with zero excess insurance included. Quidco cashback is only 8.5% with Auto Europe though, so only £3.60, compared with £10 with Holiday Autos.
So it looks like, if you want zero excess, Auto Europe wins. If you don't want zero excess, Holiday Autos wins.0 -
Auto Europe operate full/empty fuel policy on hire over 3 days see below
"Petrol first tank is payable locally at time of pick up (tank price is typically €60 or more, depending on the category), client should return the vehicle as empty as possible. Exception: Rentals 3 days or less, credit will be given for fuel left in the vehicle)."
I am hedging towards rentacarvanyell but could do with some reviews!0 -
I always use recordrentacar.com in mallorca. Take back with the same fuel as when you collected, good service and no 2nd driver charge etc. Price is normally one of the cheapest too.
operate again full/empty policy - see below
"For rentals with a duration of 4 or more days, the tank will be provided full and will have to be returned as empty as possible"
Full-Empty: Customer will pay for a full tank of fuel and it will have to be returned as empty as possible
Most expensive rate so far for my 8 nights....0 -

I used the same company- up to 3 days hire is full to full though- well it was 3 weeks ago0 -
We booked with rentacarvanrell as they were the cheapest, but got an email 2 days beforehand to say that they had to withdraw our booking as had overbooked car hire. Very annoyed as we have now had to pay an extra £60 to another company as such late notice and very few cars available :mad:0
