You are right about going up into the mountains and I would advise anyone to visit Valdermosa if they were in Majorca.

I use a Seat Ibiza and find this ideal for the majority of the Majorcan roads.
It's far better to be penny wise than pound foolish.

I would reccomend www.carjet.co.uk I have used them for the last 3 years, had no problems, pickup from the terminal.

They are a UK broker and use Goldcar at the airport.

They were reccomended to me on here.

    Cheers

try www.rentacarvanrell.com they let you bring the car back with the same petrol you set out with and the prices are very reasonable. They deliver and collect from the terminal too.

Hello I have been looking for a hire company who doesn't do the 'full tank return empty tank'. This company looks good but can't find out much about them. can anybody else recommend through experience of using them...

I still can't find cheaper than Holiday Autos - with their £10 Quidco cashback.
  • Try doyouspain.co.uk . For hire for up to 3 days they do a full to full service and you dont have to pay until you collect the car at the airport.

We always use www.amigoautos.com - again a broker that usually uses goldcar at the airport. I think for upto 3 days hire they will do the full - full fuel, anything over then its full - empty.

The thing that has always pleased me at goldcar (was europa I think before that) was they are not anal about checking for the tiniest bit of damage on the car to try and sting you with the excess payment. Last year I think the only potential liability was to wheels/tyres which you could insure against, the rest was all covered with no excess - which is how I think it should be.

£115 for renault clio with Holiday Autos and £ 104 (dependant upon exchange rate) with carvanrell. However check out the fuel policy with Holidayautos

fuel conditionsOn arrival you have two options for fuel: 1) Full - Empty: Pay for a full tank of fuel at a cost of between 45 - 90 eur depending on the size of the car, and return the vehicle empty. No refunds will be given for unused fuel. 2) Full - Full: a fuel deposit 45 - 90 eur depending on the size of the car, and return the car full
carvanrell operate giving you enough fuel to get to the garage and then returning the same level......

Someone correct me if I am wrong!

I will prob go for carvanrell in the hope the weather will be nice and we won't have to get out and about and instead laze by the pool !!! Therefore only needing to put in half a tank and the ability to pay petrol pump prices not over inflated by the rental company

I always use recordrentacar.com in mallorca. Take back with the same fuel as when you collected, good service and no 2nd driver charge etc. Price is normally one of the cheapest too.

I was looking at 3 days hire of the smallest car. Holiday Autos is £42 car a Ford KA.

Still, doyouspain.com shows £36.99 for their smallest (Citroen C2). They also show the Euro price as €44.57.

If doyouspain.com charge the Sterling price, they're obviously quite a bit cheaper than Holiday Autos. If they charge the Euro price, however, then it's about the same.
