Hello again Kerfuffle and love to Canada! It's lovely to see you again and I do so hope that's not a 'goodbye' note! No one would blame you for putting your savings towards your CC Kerfuffle, and 1 or 2 others have already done the same, but they're still going to continue on and save when possible. Martin himself is always first to say "use your savings to pay off/towards debts" and it makes sense to do so. Stick with us though, even if it's only a cent every so often it's still savings of a sort!!

Hi Sue-UU,
Hello everybody,
Well what can I say, this lady certainly doesn't let you escape does she?
Ok, so I was going to take more of a back seat, but after reading such a lovely post I thought there's no way I can turn my back on this lady so I think I had better stick around. So I thought how about if I combine my 'not so sealed pot challenge' with my Payment A Week, by posting what I put in the pot whilst keeping a tally of what I take out to pay the credit card. The amount saved this way won't be so much of a surprise at the end of the year, but the accumulating amount may just about keep me motivated.
So Sue-UU, I'm still here if you'll have me.
Toodles.
(Ok, so I'm adding an edit because I've changed my mind and a lot of this isn't relevant, I couldn't decide whether to just edit the whole thing but then you wouldn't have a clue what I'm talking about later so I've left it, just take it all with a pinch of salt).0 -
So just to bring everybody up to date. The pot was raided last week and I had amassed $105.13 which when converted came to about 58.00 to pay towards my credit card. This week so far my jar has some roadkill in it, and some money found when cleaning out the car and has amounted to $4.19. On Friday evening I went trawling the highway and picked up drink tins, bottles and plastic and have approx $4.50 worth to take to recycling to cash in (and in a little while I will get off my butt and do it again now that the weekend is over). My intention then is on Wednesday, when I go into town, to make my PAW.
So I will endeavor to keep you posted, however tedious and boring this may sound to you all, and hopefully will be able offer support to all you guys as well.

Hi Guys,
Well, I am a newbie, decided to start saving last week. Up until last night I have been popping my change in a spare purse but managed to find my packing tape and so made a sealed jar out of an old choccy spread jar with a slit in the top and loads of packing tape. It's not to most attractive thing in the world but I can't open it or see how much is inside.
Carried it around the house with me searching for coins, found about 70p in the bathroom and a couple of quid in the lounge. Added to the change from the purse and some £2 coins I have kept and I am well on my way!
I don't think I have ever really saved before so I am really looking forward to the 1st Dec.0 -
I've got an empty 2 litre drinks bottle, slightly melted the neck to just fit a pound coin in (with a squeeze, so they can't be got out!), and am going to save for something nice for my house (which I'm hoping to buy next year, or the year after)."Things are made of littler things that jiggle."
