£120 Cashback with Vodafone £15 Sim-Only **Now with problems**

If anyone does go down the legal route and fails I'm willing to donate £10 to the 1st person who genuinely tries and loses out financially.
Anyone else want to make this pledge??
The 1st step must be a LBA (letter before action) to give them a chance to sort the matter, the 2nd via MCOL. https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco/guidelines_who_can.jsp
Beware though, make sure you know what you are doing and can put in the time and effort needed and make sure you have all details needed if this went to a hearing. Someone who has gone down this route may offer advise and guidance. I've only ever threatened with an LBA and it was sorted each time (mobile phone cashbacks), so never actually got to the MCOL stage.

Yes okay, I'll put my money where my mouth is too - provided as Lynsey says it's done properly with sufficient preparation. Unfortunately the incidences where I've lost out are probably too long ago, or I would have been up for having a go with these.0 -

I have just had this reply from Topcashback regarding my £90 cashback for a sim only deal that was originally listed with a now overdue 4 month validation period:Thanks for your enquiry,
I understand that you have a cashback amount at the 'Pending' status for a transaction made via Vodafone on the 09/08/2008. The reason I believe as to why this is showing as 'greyed out' to you, is that we have recently changed the affiliate network (which are our tracking agency - these sit between us and the merchant) in which we use to manage this merchant's programme - but this shoudn't have any bearing on your cashback eligiblity. I can see that this was subject to a four month validation process, so it is likely that your cashback will be validated as part of a monthly batch, and your cashback record should be updated nearer the end of this month so this can be made claimable to you.
Sorry for the delay, but please write back if this situation is ongoing.0 -

Oooh! more hope for my £120 TCB one then
Still not holding my breath!
Oh, and even though I think we have more chance of peeing in the queens handbag than winning any sort of court case against cashback companies, I too would still like to see an atempt be made, so I will match Norm and Lynseys offer (same terms too). In fact to get the ball rolling, I will match the existing £20 so far, so the pot now stands at £40.0 -

But would they want to chance it??
How much would it cost them to defend say a £90 claim, time, travel, wages, legal expenses etc.??
What if they lost??
A correctly worded LBA might just make them settle to avoid any actions, who knows??
Getting interesting.

Speaking to anyone in quidco would only get the same result, NOWT!
Contact the affiliate manager at voda direct.
I have sent you the contact details email and phone.
Please do post how you get on.0 -
After reading this thread, personaly I now come to the conclusion of giving 30 days notice rather than hoping for cash back.
"Morphus" gave me the lead, ask for your pac code and wait untill they ring
Took from Vodafone after asking for pac code :-
W980Sony Erricsson plus 2g memory and bluetooth
12 months contract- unlimited texts and 600 min for £15 for the whole 12 months no 3 months at full price at the end
Now I know I am deviating away from the thread and the original quidco deal, but above info might be useful to someone0 -
At the end of the day, NON cashback sites that carry the voda banners are getting the same affiliate payment as the cashback sites and they dont tell you you have to keep a 30 day contarct for 4 months do they or even 8 months ITS A 30 DAY CONTRACT
Those site owners will egt paid from the affiliate company whether you stay for a month or 5 years.
The cashback sites are at it in my opinion. Theres a couple of people contacted the affiliate manager at vodafone so I'll wait to see what they say.0 -
My £120 has now moved to "confirmed". Is this the same as "validated" on Quidco? Is it 'safe' to cancel the contract (or put in such a request) now?
if you cancel you wont get cashback as you need to have it for the min term. whether this is 4 or 8 months we no longer know and, indeed, it looks like vodafone don't even pay out given what other posters have experienced0
