However in stock at £39.99 + £1.49 postage recorded mail. Not a true grabbit, but cheaper than play / amazon sellers, so a potential saving if really keen to get hold of it.

I emailed Play.com asking them why they keep on showing availability when they had so many back orders - I got this reply. I suspect there may be little point placing any more pre-Christmas orders with them.

I apologise for any confusion caused by or lack of clarity in the previous reply. I believe genuine technical limitations cause the stock level to be adjusted when an item is returned to us and 'booked in' at the warehouse. As you suggest if any stock were actually available for sale then it would be used to fulfil back orders on a first-come first-served basis.

Demand for this product has far outsripped supply nationwide. We are currently awaiting a restock date from Nintendo, but although we will be getting more stock of the game in the future I cannot say whether it will be in time for Christmas.

Movietyme are a trustworthy company... however... they have increased the price of this title in the last week by £17. It was £22.99 last Friday... so, cashing in??? Looks like it. And you may need to know that they sell games from the USA - this isn't a problem because they will work perfectly well on any DS but some people prefer to stick to UK versions.

Currently 'In Stock' at Amazon (via a reseller) for £64.99. That's the highest price I've seen, and its getting a bit ridiculous. I know there's such a thing as supply and demand, but there comes a point where rip-off comes into it too.
