As have I - tiff, you're a legend!!! I've had this promised to the missus for months and not been able to find it!!!! :D

Don't count your chickens - just wait for the "out of stock" email that comes along a little later. Or perhaps you really will be lucky!

Yep ordered it as well, hompage it said in stock then on my order page it said out of stock. Got an email confirming my order and doesn't mention out of stock.

Will continue hunting as expect Play to let me down.

    all gone
    !!!!!!
  • just checked my play.com account and the status had changed to order placed then 10 minutes later to awaiting stock!! i did order this on the 2nd dec so i have spoken with them and they are going through the backlog of people which is good but obviously don't know how far down the queue i am but he guy on the phone did say it is less likely by the minute that it will be delivered by crimbo so everyone out there do be careful when it states they are in stock for £24.99 when they are not.

I got the same 'out of stock' status when in checkout.

I've also got an order with Powerplay but they aren't in stock either. It did say 3-10 days to restock but been on order for 2 weeks now and still nothing.

Can kick myself as there was loads in woolies last week and didn't realise they were such hot property.

Spoken to Blockbuster, WH Smith, Game and Woolies all the same suppliers so no idea when new stock coming in.

I wouldn't beat yourself up about Woolies, I'm 99% sure they didnt have them (not had any for weeks)- I've been in several where they have had them on the shelves, but none in stock. The ones on shelves are just copy cases and they normally dont have them in. They've recently stuck stickers on them as they were getting so many enquiries! :o

I have been searching for this game since it came out but can't find it in stock anywhere. I know I am probably being really thick, but I don't understand why there are loads on ebay for about £20 from Hong Kong - are they fakes? I am tempted to get one to save paying the ridiculous prices on Play and Amazon marketplaces, or the UK ones on ebay. Can anyone advise?

It will probably be a fake, but that doesnt mean it wont work! The vast majority from China and HK are, but people simply just don't know what to look for as a fake. I've seen a few and you can tell, but to an 'un-trained' eye you wouldn't really know the difference. The copies have got a lot better than they used to be (as colour printers etc have improved), but they mostly are copies. You can normally see a slight blurring to the text, barcode and graphics, particually on reds. Genuine copies are really perfectly sharp on the artwork. These generally work fine - after all the game is just data and that's the same, but you may have problems if you ever try to sell or trade it on. :o
  • Managed to reserve one on Currys Online on Wednesday for a store out of town. Called up yesterday and the store said they had none in stock. They told me to try calling my local Currys and luckily there was one in stock (though it was not showing online). It might be an idea to try calling local Curry stores as it seems there is some stock floating around. I'm in the Slough area btw.

My Play account has changed from 'order taken' to 'awaiting stock' so that's progress, I suppose!

I'm increasingly less fussed about this game as the days wear on...
