Well as Avira doesn't scan e-mails, why would you choose that one?
Read this article here.
1. As previously posted if you're using webmail
2. If not then if you have good e-mail habits e.g. don't open unknown messages, don't run mystery attachments without scanning them, etc. then Avira AntiVir should be all you need to keep your computer free of viruses.0 -

Free addition of AVG is the best anti virus software.
Like hell it is. There's no scanning of downloads, no detection of rootkits, no scanning of IM messages AND NO REALTIME SCANNING OF WEBSITES.0 -

I bought a Sat Nav and like others who see bargains or spot them they post them.
How does it make me a spammer?0 -

When I used it, whenever I went on dodgy sites it stopped them straight away
So if technically it doesnt scan in 'realtime', it sure as hell stopped them from infecting my machine all the same.......:idea:0 -

Have used comodo now for a few years from early conception really. It does what it says on the tin but like all antivirus it not 100% and you need to be aware of this.I would also use spybot to suppliment the antivirus this is also free.Microsoft offer MS Defender as their anti malware which is ok ish
I have used Comodo for a year or more and as you say to also use other programmes as well is a good idea although some can conflict.
Spybot search & destroy
Lavasoft Ad-adware
CCleaner
Windows defender
There was a few others but i carnt remember them
Avast virus, I think.
This site use to be good for advice but have not used it in quiet a while.
