OK so you were on company business in the company car and they want you to pay for it!
I don't think I would be best pleased.
I view stones being thrown up as unavoidable and I would have thought the company should pay up.0 -

My point exactly! Im not pleased at all but I also can't risk driving a car with a cracked windscreen. The company should pay but getting them to pay is a different matter. My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to sayIgnore......check!0 -

Since you are so obviously interested.......my signature was slightly too long and thats why it broke the site rules.
The reason why its on every post is that phrase is now my signature!

Something hasn't been told to us, because every company car I know has some basic form of glass cover, its like the basic thing
If the car was to be broken into they would replace the radio, clean the glass up, replace anything else and leave the window? surely not
I've told you all the facts....and I agree with you that every company car ive had prior to working for this company has had windscreen cover.
I think in cases of a car being broken into then the company would need to put in a insurance claim.
The reason the company are giving for having no windscreen cover is that it would affect their premiums if had to make a claim 2 or 3 times a year for replacement of windscreens on their fleet of vehiclesMy home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. It just doesnt seem right to me and when ive had company lease vehicles before EVERYTHING has been covered!
Well yeah, that's the idea of a lease vehicle. Saying that though, they may have got a leasing contract where your company is responsible for maintenance rather than the leasing company. Saves a fair whack on the lease costs.0
