I know the last post was a while ago, but I wanted to include my recent experiences with Teleworld.
I've been luckier than some on here, as I ordered my Sony LCD TV in April 2008, and was very impressed with the service. They phoned me the next day to organise delivery, and I actually had to delay them, because I wasn't ready for it. It arrived promptly on the day we organised - and I was very happy with the service. As it cost me over £1200, I also took the option of the 3 year warranty. Back then, they had very good customer feedback - I guess the company was more stable then.
On to this week, and my TV picture suddenly dies. No problem I thought, as I have the 3 year warranty. It's only today, when trying to find the details for Teleworld to arrange a repair, that I've known of any problems with them. While obviously failing to contact Teleworld, I contacted the warranty company directly, and they have no record of my warranty.
This is a nationwide, reputable warranty company, so I struggle to think of anything untoward there - who were very helpful in trying to resolve my warranty. All I have for my warranty is the blue sheet from a multi-part form - an APPLICATION for the warranty.
So, it seems that something is amiss here. Either the form from Teleworld to set up the warranty got lost in the post...or they didn't send it at all. The warranty rep told me they'd never had any dealings with Teleworld - so I struggle to believe that this is just lost in the post. I suspect that teleworld took my warranty payment (over £200) and just pocketed it. Most people's warranties never get used - so it's an easy scam I guess.
I'm not sure what to do about this. I'm writing to the warranty company, to confirm my suspicions, before working out what to do next (without a TV!)
Does anyone have any thoughts on what I could do? If anyone has a warranty, I would recommend checking that it's set up correctly.
Thanks (and sorry this got so long...it's helped!)0
