Wow thank goodness I have no dettol in the house, I just googled it too and it is indeed toxic to cats apparently as is most thinks that turn cloudy in water i.e. tcp, zoflora, etc. So will stick to salted warm water and a vets appointment.
Aww i'm so glad you read back first! I mean we have a couple of Vets on here but of course even if they were happy to advise they won't have seen the cat so I always say call the cats vet & get their advice. Salt water should be ok!
I hope puss is ok & can see the vet soon, should be ok with salt water until you can get in x0 -
Thanks for your advice guys....salt water all the way xxRemember ....its not a bargain unless you need it0

I've had cats my entire life (30 years) and had no idea about Dettol being toxic. Just goes to show you never stop learning, eh?0

Never knew about the lily pollen thing either, is it poisonous??
Cats nose is 100 times better today after we cleaned with with the salt water, swelling gone down, no more puss seems to be healing now. Not been to Vets as couldn't get an appointment today will see how it is tomorrow, may not be necessary.Remember ....its not a bargain unless you need it0 -

Yeah the pollen outta lillies is, I love Stargazer ones but daren't risk it now lol0 -
I have lilies in the house and my cat never goes near them.
I'd agree with salt water. Noses do seem to take a while to heal for some reason but if it's only a scratch and not swollen I wouldn;t worry too much.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
