I've just watched Doctors with an irritating message across the top of the screen telling me the tv needs to be ready for digital switchover on 8th April. I don't think I can stand 5 months of that. I'm sure those who want to go digital will know all about it and will have done so. You'd have to be living on a remote island not to know about it! So why do they have to spoil our viewing by covering the top of the screen?:mad:

Now that's off my chest I'll go off to do a few more jobs from my list.

Kaat - it's ages before we go digital...looks like we will get constant reminders as the time approaches then...

Anyone ordering from HMV through Quidco - they have upped their cashback to 9% - just after I spent almost £75 with them:rolleyes: and it's on the bingo tickets apparently. I was just looking for a DVD for DD and they have it - only £3.99 but they are awaiting stock. They have taken my order though. They declined my payment (quidco) for the Friends set but I am querying it...

Hoovered through DS and DDs bedroomed (having first piled all carp onto their beds for them to deal with)

    re the loo cleaning
internal cif type cream - shops own and a loo brush
external I use a piece of old towel and I wash these every week with my towel wash which I do at 60 degrees so they stay clean and don't get smelly like damp cloths can get. I keep it behind the loo and it's only used for that job. For the rest of the bedroom I use Wilkos bathroom Sponges (2 in a pack) which have an abrasive side a bit like washing up sponges and they keep the bath and basin clean.
    HTH

By the way I use these in my cistern. When we first moved in here it cleaned all the black mould out of the cistern and pipes.

Then I pour bleach in the loo and down the plugholes and the overflow.

No. We're not going to bother switching over, just keep the tv to watch dvds. We get our signal from the Beacon Hill transmitter group, which is apparently the first one to go off. We have a transmitter a couple of hundred yards from us and last week they were putting something on it to be able to get digital signals because even if we had a box we wouldn't have been able to get digital (don't know whether it's up and running yet though).

I LOVE doing that - any North Derbyshire/South Yorkshire ones on your list... I might even be able to scout 'em for you.
Ummm, no! Just about everywhere else but there it seems. Thanks for the offer though:A

Doing badly on the flying front today, dailies are done, bread rolls are made but that's about it. I'm in a baking kind of mood so perhaps I should get on and try and produce some kind of fruit cake which may or may not last till Christmas.
