'I don't care how welsh that lamb was it's not worth that much money':D.

I remember years ago mum complaining that New Zealand lamb was cheaper than buying locally produced Manx lamb  Never having bought meat I don't know if that's still the case, but it's a bit ridiculous isn't it?

    Ooooh, another Guild member :hello:

I love going on the workshops - 6 1/2 hours with nobody hassling me :rotfl:. I've only booked two for next year I think, though I've realised there's another one I fancy going on but it's fully booked. Oh well, as DH is always saying "you snooze, you lose" :rotfl:. I'll put myself on the waiting list (there are three on it already!).

I'm thinking of joining the local quilting group too. I'm only a beginner, but we all have to start somewhere, and I think there are a few people in my local Emb Guild who are also in Mannin Quilters.

Just wrote a fantastic step-by step guide and firefox crashed

Audacity is a free programme that you can download from lots of software sites, I tend to use www.cnet.com for most things. It works along the same lines as taping a song from the radio. You open Audacity and set it to record and then hit play on the youtube vid that you've chosen. It will then record the audio from the video, which you can save as an mp3, windows media player file ect. This can be popped straight onto your DD's mp3 player.
The Riva encoder is more of a faff..but we use it on on our XP PC as audacity doesn't seem to like Vista home premium.
    1. download the RIVA FLV Encoder from cnet.com
    2. Find the video that you want from youtube and copy down the url
    3. go to www.keepvid.com and paste url into the search bar
    4. Click on the link that it brings up and download the file.
    5. once downloaded, go to the file and change the end of its name to .flv
    6. Open the riva encoder, find the file that you've just renamed and in the destination file box change its file name to .mp3 .Hit the Encode file button and voila..................you have the mp3 file
At this point you may need a stiff drink and a good scream though! lol

    Hope that helped!

I apologise in advance for this, but my son loves this (well he would - he's 9!), so if anyone else has sons who love gross things they should try this http://www.eyegas.com/sproutifarts/

Justamum...I've done quilting once before which was good fun. I think my cushion cover looks very good as well! Would love to go on an embroidery course, I don't think I'm too bad for someone learning out of books but would be nice to do something away from the children!

And I've had to turn the heating up to 45! Not sure what that makes the house temperature, but usually it hovers between 30 and 35 just to keep the chill off, but a couple of days ago I turned it to 40 and now it's on 45. DD2 has a cold though so I'm thinking I should keep her warm! Debating whether to light a fire instead and turn the heating back down again.

Will be moving in a sec, need to sort small girl out and then get on with the DW and WM.
Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

    Morning ladies!

A cold one again this morning brrrrrrr thankfully it seems to be raining now so it's warmed up a bit at least and it's getting rid of that infernal frost, pretty as it is it's a pain in the rear end trying to defrost the car every morning.

I've got an hour from 11.30 - 12.30 today to fit in pigpens list, it's another manic day today  I've already tidied my bedroom (everything had been dumped in it) and I never have an untidy room but will wait for bedroom day to clean/change bed. Need to do kitchen again and hoover through too oh and find an extension so I can get my TD on the go - I've still got 3 loads that needs drying.

On the upside I bought my chrissy cards and wrap yesterday, I couldn't wait for Thursday and as it happens they were cheaper than what M&S would have been even with the 20% off day(mix of Clintons, BHS and NEXT), so more pressies been wrapped (the adult ones, with bows, and ribbon) very time consuming AND the flylady cards are all written out - just pondering how much they're going to cost to send cause the pile is quite heavy - don't know how much a second class stamp is so I presume it'll still be cheaper to send to lil_me
