On a different note, if you do decide to put her in on her own you could put the baby monitor on if it stops you worrying. A friend of mine has a lo in on their own and their bedrooms are really far apart so she leaves hers on so she can hear her.

Okay, my DS is in the next room over, and we use a monitor. How paranoid does that make us?!?! lol

You have to wean yourself off:D

We never had one bedroom to bedroom but we did keep the upstairs/downstairs till she was about 3. Our excuse was it's hard to hear in our living room from her bedroom so we went on a weaning exercise. :o

    She's such a cutie :)

On a serious note I'd phone head office before heading into one of the shops, hope they sort it out for you!

  • Thanks to everyone for their replies and comments - especially the ones about Natasha being cute :D

I have put everything in writing to Mothercare so once i get a reply i will post it here and keep you informed (i hate reading threads that have no endings!!)

Whatever Mothercare say i am going to push for a full refund plus let Trading Standards know. If anyone has the Ashton Cot from Mothercare please check your bars are secure :o

I hope nobody minds but i just have to put a picture of her here for you all as she is so perfect and i love being her mummy x

    Awww bless :D

Poppy & Broken hearted itdoesnt sound as though you have had a good experience with Mothercare in similar circumstances. I think i will ask for a refund rather than a replacement as we do have the brand new cotbed in her room so another tiny cot now would probably be a waste as it wont be used for very long.

Thank you abby1234519 & Jetcat, she is sooooooooo beautiful and just a perfect baby :D but you still cant have her lol

Jetcat OMG i cant stop laughing at the image of your daughter waving the bar around her head then getting herself wedged and still sleeping lol

I have pushed all the bars back in but its exactly as you say and they just dont go back in properly and im a little reluctant to glue it all as i may need to show the cot being like this.

With regards to Trading Standards i think i will give Mothercare a opportunity to respond before contacting them but whatever Mothercare say i will be contacting them and will make Mothercare aware of such. I realise the cot was only around £70 and the mattress probably cost me more but it should withstand a baby sleeping in it for 7/8 months (she had a small crib before this)

Regardless of the price that shouldn't happen. We have the ikea cot that is around 60 pounds and a very boisterous 11 month old boy - the cot has been solid, no problems.
    Taking baby-steps
