Asda Overcharging policy
Comments
-
I was recently overcharged about £15 in Asda, and when I asked about the £2 gift card I have been given in the past - I was told they didn't do that anymore
I checked their web-site, inc the link someone posted on here - but "overcharging" wasn't mentioned.
I therefore phoned Asda Customer Customer services in Leeds last week - very nice young lady;)
Company policy is still to receive an extra £2 if you are overcharged. I hope they let the individual Store Customer Service staff know, because if it happens again, I will insist on the extra £2, if nothing else to pay for my special return visit.0 -
i had been overcharged at 2 seperate asdas in leicester and both insisted they didnt do these gift cards anymore, so i emailed head office, took about 5 days to reply and i asked them to send a copy of their policy so i can keep it in my purse ready for the next overcharge, they emailed it to me but dont no how to cut and paste.........always on the lookout for a bargin always better when its free!!:T0

found it...Thank you for your message.
I'm sorry we overcharged recently. It's very important to us our customers can
always trust us to get our prices right. I can see why you feel so let down.
I've recorded the details of your letter and these will be included in the
weekly report we send to each store manager. It's their responsibility to take
the necessary actions to stop this from happening again.
Our policy is to refund the overcharge and offer a £2 gift card to say sorry for
the slip up. With this in mind, I've enclosed a gift card for £4 to cover this
and say sorry for the mistakes. I hope this goes some way to making up for your
experience.
Thanks again for your email.
Kind regards
Beckie Calvert

had a new one the other day - overcharged 57p on a pack of 3 tiger cat food, gave me money back and let me keep product, although I did ask about the gift card. "i will do this instead" was the reply. Too tired to argue, but this left me £1 worse off.0

Yes. It was per item. At the beginning of last year, it changed to per transaction. It's now back to per item.0 -
got one on thursday after an overcharge on some Jordans fruesli (40p or so). Long queue at cust servs, woman wasn't offering gift card and I had to prompt her twice but got it in the end.
Without this I wouldn' t have bothered waiting in the queue so they would have got away with it - but on the other hand, as this happens a lot I probably wouldn't shop there.0 -
It's definitely worth contacting their head office and not the local store. I have always got a much better response from Tesco and Sainsburys that way.0

I was overcharged on Wednesday and had to ask for the giftcard in Thornaby0
