Nice one Anne-Marie and Sean.
Being an ex-Coventry kid I was very interested in watching the show. Anne-Marie, it wasn't until we saw some older pictures of you that I remembered meeting you years ago at the Jag club!! You were trying to get me to open the bottle of wine I had just won. Had a laugh telling the kids that one.
I thought that you both came over very well. Anne-Marie you have a lovely voice, I wasn't expecting it to be that good for some reason. Sean, you too seem like a great bloke - good luck to you both.
Hang on Nuneaton Borough have just been awarded a penalty in the FA Cup.................YES!!! 1-1, My eldest is running around like a mad thing.0 -
Hi Sarah
Thanks for your support. The part they missed out was where I argued back that I may be making more money, but I would also have to come up with my own diet, and invest in stock and advertising, therefore if you include extra hours working there really was no difference.
The first thing anyone should do when setting up their own business is look at the market they are in to see if they have a unique selling proposition, and I am convinced that the weightloss market is saturated, as you say.
Yes I still run my Weightcare class every Tuesday.0 -

I really can't remember what the night was all about, but I know I have a picture somewhere of you frantically trying to prize that bottle of wine out of my hand!
I'd post it if I found it!0 -

I've found the pictures!! Can you believe they were in the bottom of my drawer at work in an old folder. The photo packet is dated Dec 1989!! It was just as I'd remembered, with you trying to 'nick' my bottle of wine. Like I said earlier, if the TV programme hadn't showed one of your earlier photographs then I'd never have linked you as the same girl. We've both changed mate.
Anyway I've scanned them and I'm going to PM them to you.
Small world indeed.

Just out of interest did anyone watch the second programme in the series with a different couple on it? If so what did you think of it?
Would love to know your views.

yeah, seen it. Didn't mention what happened and what they raised at the end of the show.
btw. Her idea with the 'birth' boxes were already done by someone and was mentioned on BBC news websiteYou'll Never Be Rich Working for Someone Else0 -
I saw one of these the other day as i was intrequed as to how anyone could pay a sizeable mortgage off in just 2 years. The one I saw had a bible bashing couple trying to cut back on their outgoing. After drawing the purse strings really tight & carbooting loads of old stuff off they were still no closer to paying off the mortgage. The presenters answer was to start buying/selling houses to gain money. Hardly an original idea. At the end of the day, if anyone takes a 2nd job and works 20hours a day they are going to pay their mortgage off more quickly, but probalby give themselves a heart attack in the process.
All in all, wasnt impressed by the show. Im sure there are people out there who have no common sense and squanter money, but most people in this day & age do watch their cash so this program didnt give me any tips or pointers on how i could possibly pay my mortgage off more quickly at all.0 -

I watched the signed repeat on BBC One last night. I thought it was good, maybe not as interesting as the first programme and I think that - as the presenter said - the couple will need to become a lot more ruthless in the 2nd year to achieve their aim. I wondered if they might just be a bit too "nice" to focus in the necessary way. How's it going with you Sean?

They'd pretty much broken even with most of their savings having been wiped out by the abortive Romanian venture.biblejohn wrote:The presenters answer was to start buying/selling houses to gain money. Hardly an original idea.
It wasn't really the presenter's idea; the bloke had been planning to do it for ages as he was a builder/decorator.biblejohn wrote:most people in this day & age do watch their cash
Most people who use this website, maybe.
