Snap. If I was nit-picking they ran out of sandwiches/baquettes before they got to my row but no hardship. I would fly with them again.
We took our own sandwiches so didnt have that problem, the kids loved the entertainement consoles, you have to pay for them but they were occupied for the whole journey.0 -

Broonbear - a Scot no doubt. Your biased.
I will not sit here and argue about FGS, the CAA investigation and the fact they were found guilty should be enough. If you choose to fly them and take your children on those planes then best wishes. Me - I like to know that when i fly my kids im flying with an airline who haven't been fined and had their license revoked due to safety issues.
I guess money means more to some than others.0 -
Sturll, I have been on a flight with a friend and her father who is an aeroplane engineer (sorry, completely forgotten the proper title for him) who sits on the plane and will happily tell you everything that was wrong with that plane and how he'd just had it in the week before. He will also tell you that they hadn't really finished on time properly but the things they missed were 'non-essential' like a couple of nuts and bolts.
I have read that it was only the planes heading for America that had problems. All planes have problems, Quantas is springing to mind here!i see the voice of doom is still bad mouthing fgs.. flew to florida with them in october no problems at all. basic plane basic service you get what you pay for. on time both ways . i'm using them in march and september next year if they go bust i'm covered
How are you covered? I will probably buy the tickets using my (Visa) credit card although I may use my (Visa) debit card. Is there any one better than the other? The price will come to roughly £130. I am just concerned because I need to get there by a certain time on a certain day. I am a student and can't really afford a lot extra.0 -

But not all have been fined and grounded for the CAA for flying aircraft that are deemed unsafe.
It cannot be justified, polished up nor can i be convinced that FGS are a respectable airline when they quite clearly put profit before safety. It is unacceptable.0 -
I have never flown them but had to coment. My BIL is an Aircraft Engineer with a large airline and he said that what they got fined for was very serious he said he would never fly with a company that knowingly flew a plane with a fault. It should make no difference if the flight was European or Atlantic it shows that this company has little regard for its passengers.
I would never take my family on one of their flights. Of course if you do book with them then book with a credit card not a debit card and that way if they do go bust you can reclaim through your credit card company.
I am not trying to scare monger or bad mouth the company but I don't think people realise how serious what they did was and this was not the only time they have had their licence for flying over the Atlantic removed. Although I was surprised they werent fined more money.February 2013 NSD - 40 -

I could not agree more. The head office were told about the fault and knowingly flew an unsafe plane with families on. How people can come on here and try and justify that, and say that it was a one off etc is tantamount to accepting what they did was fine. It wasn't. The airline imo should have been forced into administration and had their license revoked indefinitely.0 -
I also would not fly with a company with a history of flying unsafe planes and knowingly did it. To me it's not worth the risk. The Very Right Honourable Lady Tarry of the Alphabetty thread-I just love finding bargains and saving moneyI love to travel as much as I can when I canLife has a way to test you, it's how you deal with this that matters0
