Esa underpaid?

Does anyone know if you have been on incapacity benefit for the past ten weeks, does it change to the new esa allowance after 13/14 weeks or does it stay the same as the old incapacity rules and change at 28 weeks? Im sorry i find this all so confusing, especially with the worry of them trying to get you back to work with this pathways to work when you are ill. Ive never had anty time off work, but am now incapable due to my health. I know its a good thing to try to get people back to work if they are able, but i dont want to be made to feel guilty for being ill. Any help would be most grateful thanks.
You will stay on IB. Don't be scared by Pathways, if you are unfit to do any work then they will not force you into it.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Many thanks for your reply, dont get me wrong im not scared of pathways. I just dont understand when you have a long term illness and are in chronic pain that they tell you they will have some jobs to show you the next time you go, and would like to see your c.v? This being after telling you they can see you are genuine! I can fully appreciate its their job to try to get you back to work, and i do think the workshops are a great idea. But whats the point in showing me jobs when im incapable of doing them? Im not lazy, i never have been, ive always worked all my life until now.Sealed Pot Challenge no. 0920

With pathways to work your only obligations are to attend any work focused interviews you are called to and maybe draw up an action plan. If you are not well enough to look for work they cannot force you to apply for jobs.0 -
Many thanks for your reply healy, its just stressed me out since i went to the interview. Theres no way i could do anything at the moment, ive no problems attending these interviews if im well enough, i was just worried that they will stop my incapacity benefit as i know i wont be able to take them up on any offer of a job. I do hope eventually to get back to work, the doctors said its now a long term condition as its been going on for three years. I coped till the last six months but the pains just all got too much.Sealed Pot Challenge no. 0920

Its not a medical any more its called "work capability assessment" its about work you can do, not what ailment/disability is stopping you from work0

Hmmmm... for somebody who allegedly works in a Jobcentre, you've really got a way with words haven't you?! Are you sure you're in the right job?! God help anyone unfortunate enough to be "advised" by you!If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0 -
