Inspired choice of drama series by the Beeb, Little Dorritt ! The bank of Merdel collapses due to "dodgy dealings from its director" and most of the town have invested their money in it. Sound familiar? But the worst part was that early Victorian Britain had a laissez-faire attitude far stricter than Cameron/Osborne, and poor nice bloke Clenham had to go to Debtor's prison!
So all this could have been worse !!! :eek:

Hi guys and gals. How are the Christmas preparations going? Or are you still spending your days drooling over pictures of that admitedly very tasty model?

I have found myself doing exactly the opposite of what I had intended, ie spending lots of money not tied up and I haven't bought the kitchen yet, nor fixed the roof nor started on the conservatory. Woolworths Closing Down Sale provided a good opportunity to buy cheaply lots of stuff I didn't know I needed, such as furry innersoles, address labels, drawings pins, paper clips, a ream of A4 paper, suede cleaning spray ... you get the picture.

My daughter has persuaded her father to get me what I want for Christmas - a portable Bose ipod Sounddock (way over his usual budget), but considering I have promised to pay off his large credit card bill it seems it will be me paying for it anyway!

Have a good day, all, and glad to hear that the ISA certificates are finally arriving for some.
