I lived in and worked in germany for 5 years and still today work for german companies -and have many friends over there.
they are say Brown is crazy -however the one main point is that Germany does not have the vast huge debt that Uk has and i mean both personal debt with credit cards, mortgages ,loans etc etc that we have and was encourasged when nu Labour came in and Brown relaxed the BOEs grip and control on the policeing of our Banks -they went crazy with low interest rates and crazy mortgages and property prices went out of control -pure capitalism without thought.
property in germany has risen by only marginal 1 or even below 1% plus most Germans rent and do not have the "must have" mentality and are careful with their money -same as italy ,italian banks have basically escaped all this crisis as they have not sub primed etc.

to conclude Brown now has saddled uk with huge debt and will takes years to pay off -yes he gave us our icesave money and agree was political only and maybe the Tories would have caved in who knows -if not well we all risk when we deposit our money whereever.

Ever considered a complete Scottish blood transfusion, you'll not even have to pay for the tea and biscuits. :D

A lot of people saw equity in their homes increase dramatically and thought  "heh new kitchen and conservatory", without keeping it in the forefront of their minds that it all has to be paid back :naughty:!

I was stationed out there in Osnabruck for 3 years, enjoyed the people, their life style and the food and drink. Have always threatened to return but never got round to it.
