This has been such a success, how do others feel about wrapping up on a high note? It would be a shame to just dwindle away. :o

I 've not really been a regular contributor apart from the past few days so it is not for me to say.

But does sound like a good idea.

There was another way to solve the mystery. Not quite as conclusive as a code though hence the thiiiiiiiiiink.
See if you can work it out while I update the thanking duties.

Is it something to do with buddy lists? I'm not completely sure what they are or how they work, but they must be able to tell you who is online and when??
I just got lost in thought. It was unfamiliar territory. :D

    Other things to say

    1. There were quite a few deliberate mis-spellings, I think someone mentioned something like "yours" which made me laugh as it was a deliberate mistake I had remembered making.

    2. Hadn't really intended to implicate Implicate, although I half realised that might happen, but there were a few scary posts going on so was just trying to change the subject really and that was the main motive. When I realised that it was mis-leading I posted to say I didn't mean to implicate Implicate and that the mystery was not solved to clear things up.

    3. The altocumulus red herring was deliberate. Nobody else was going to notice it so I pointed it out myself as Tibbledom. I had remembered adey mention altocumulus earlier

    4. The golfing clue (8= snowman in golf) was a red herring found through a google search for snowman. Initially it was to make you think it was suesie. Someone suddenly posting this at same time as suesie. Suspicious.

    5. I thought sloughflint was fair game when doing the Tibbledom denials as he had accused me (albeit correctly) and didn't think he would take offense but didn't want to suggest anyone else although I did in the later stages mention altocumulus.
Still catching up. So was the explicate/ implicate/Bohm never part of it?

I think it's not for me to say either, as I haven't been much of a contributor until recently either.

I did try to resign last week though - but couldn't quite cut the umbilical cord.:D :D:D

I agree it would be a shame to just fade away though. Nothing like going out on a song.:T

So you wouldn't even wait until my cheques arrived?

    Sorry Sloughflint, thoughtless of me.

How about a turn at holding the cup until the cheque arrives. :D

I really am going to do some work now.......

Not really. The first explicate was just a quick attempt at a joke. Of course in hindsight not everyone would be aware that explicate and implicate were related in the Bohm theories.

The comment about chaos and the trillion snowflakes creating the snowman was just something that came into my head when a few scary posts were being made, although it did dawn on me that that might mislead.

And then the "did not mean to implicate"/mysteres not solved was to clarify things.

I've got a mathematical type background and I do see a lot of beauty in chaos theory. The Implicate Order theory from Bohm is a very interesting one. Would quite like to read his book some time.

Implicate Order is a great choice of username to have. I wish i had thought of it.

    Welcome Chr15

I know we are not supposed to give medical opinion on here but I do believe you are suffering from the medical condition threaditis, a condition causing the sufferer to believe that certain threads in which they are not interested or disagree should not exist.

The early symptoms are difficult to diagnose as they can be confused with someone legitimately wanting to say a thread should be in a different place.

However the repeated nature of the comments on other threads for example you say very recently

is evidence of the existence of the condition.

In some cases the condition can worsen into a need to make unpleasant comments about other posters on the forum (in this case all female posters and everyone who posts in the arms).

The good news is that the illness can be overcome by a use of a revolutionary new treatment called “lighten up” therapy.

To be more serious you are entitled to say that this thread should be somewhere else; as it happens I voted in a recent poll for it to move to the arms, although in reality I don’t mind either way. But there are ways and means of saying this in a way that is “nice to other moneysavers”.

Incidentally where icesavers still waiting for their cash (and there are some pretty serious problems for those unable to use the electronic process) come onto this thread we direct them to the other icesave threads which are discussing these issues.

    I hope your condition improves.

Unless you get the main clue (you will know) guess away at your leisure. If you work out the main clue congratulate yourself but please do not post my identity or post that you have worked it out. That would spoil it for the other detectives just behind you. Send a PM to SnowMan with your reason (make sure you get the capitals in the right place) and that will be evidence that you’ve worked it out, although I won’t necessarily be able to reply straight away. Without a correct reason I cannot reply.

I will provide an additional clue tomorrow morning.

At 7:45pm tomorrow I would ask that anyone who has solved the mystery posts the answer. If nobody has posted then I will reveal my identity at 8pm.

That's where I should have got you. Sentence and paragraph formation and spacing pretty conclusive. Damn!   :D

And perhaps I wasn't helping by also seeing the beauty in chaos, and playing along with all of this.

I can heartily recommend any of David Bohm's writings to anyone, but his idea of implicate order is the most compelling of all....

    Tata, folks,
See you for champagne at 8.00pm

I did think that someone would pick up on the similar presentation. It's something that it's hard to change without spoiling the posts.

The fact I hadn't posted that often was something that saved me there perhaps.
