Can anyone who applied for the Kent Reliance Fixed Rate Bond (as I recall, KenC, VeryUnique and Chameleon) and sent forms and cheque late last week tell me if they've had the cheque cashed? I'm now worried my application may not have got there (even though sent Guaranteed Next Day Delivery). The chap on the phone said cheques were banked at head office straight away, but I guess they may have a backlog. It's annoying since I have 20K sitting in my bank account earning nothing (when it could be earning next to nothing elsewhere! ).

I sent forms and cheque Thursday and had confirmation of Friday arrival (girl went down to postroom to check that next day delivery was there as PO stupidly delivered before 8am and I was worried noone thereto sign for it) My 20k also sitting in bank as cheque not cashed. I am sure KRBS do have backlog.

FSCS money in bank yesterday although heart stopping moment when they couldn't find it. I had forgotten would be paid as 2 separate items as there were 2 accounts.

Now remains for me to sort out 90 day interest penalty with Chelsea for breaking bond. I was told twice that money would be deducted from monthly interest so effectively no interest for 2 months and part for 3rd. I wanted confirmation in writing which they seemed surprised about. This morning's letter doesn't even confirm the exact amount of the penalty but infers that part was deducted from November interest and balance will be deducted from capital sum for the few remaning months of the bond. Rather stupid imo and why can't they agree on what the procedure is ?
