Hi all.
Just thought I'd let you know of a decent rate being offered by Close Brothers for a two-year fixed rate deposit account at 5% gross p.a. A.E.R. (£10,000 to £10 million [!]). Unfortunately I am unable to take advantage of this as already have £45K with them, but it seems a good deal if anyone wants to tie up and has any money left!
I had to laugh when I read that Harrowing and st had such a (relatively) small amount invested in Icesave (still don't know how much amistupid is good for!). No wonder you guys were able to keep your humour levels so high during the difficult time.
P.S. Is everyone else as cold as I am? Sitting at the comp is becoming a bit of a no-no.0 -

Thanks, yes others sweating more as their loss would have been far worse than ours. I'm still at the stage where mortgage my no.1 priority and (especially as I'm on a fixed rate deal dammit) overpaying that seems the best use of money.
Great tip for savers!
And yes for once London is amongst the coldest, even with central heating turned right up you can imagine me as an old guy with a blanket round my legs watching tv !0 -
Ami, if your "d*ck" joke was made-up, 40 points!0
