just fun and in the current state of the car industry and being told by Broons lot to use public transport what modes of transport do fellow IVA members drive or have access to :
we have 3 year old golf and 5 year old civic both from new -both 3 door sport models .
next car will seriously consider a Kia -7 year warranty and good reports quite like the pro ceed--plus my sister and OH always have Kias and = excellent.

what have icesavers invested in since having our money refunded ? I opened a capital one savings a/c at 4.50% but now dropped to 3.5% also moved all my other savings over from B of Scot which has dropped my instant access savings to 1.98% -what do expect scotish and before hbos the Bank of Scotland was a very well managed organisation until merging with those Halifax dimwits.- only to say " in America , in America global..." the man needs to return to "Northern Britain" and stay there.

My Mum "invested" in Saga online top-5 (average of best top 5 instant access on moneyfacts.co.uk - "initial bonus" accouns excluded), which is no longer available for new deposits. Started at 5.66, down to 4.34 so not too bad at the mo but we don't hold our breath for a good rate if BOE goes down to 1.25%.

This time I advised her against foreign accounts, having done the below on icesave!

Apart from the electronic engine management system failing after a few months (mercifully covered in warranty) I have found Vectra v reliable in 7 years, but I do very low mileage....and don't think they exist any more ? (I know ST/Ami, and GM Vauxhall don't look too "permanent a fixture" these days either...)

yes is shame as we had Vauxhall Astras and never ever any problems at all -infact the last Astra 02-was better quality than my mk5 Golf!

bad news do not know how you can endure public transport in London trian etc being unreliable ,late and or never turning up -I like it when staying in Munich or Dusseldorf for 2 weeks -always use public transport = always on time =super service unlike here--even italy the trains run on time and not expensive like rip off UK:mad:

Is your evidence anecdotal or actual? It's a little "hyped down" (if such a term exists). To be honest, I find public transport more reliable in terms of "expected duration".....when I drove to work in midlands you just need something to "tip the critical balance" (e.g. someone broken down) and you can be in bad queues wishing the radio was playing something better!

Please note that I don't do long overground rail journeys which I know are sardine city !

That said, tube STRIKES are a nightmare but (fingers crossed) rare of late.
