    Moaning all.
Me laddo got home at 5pm, drinking heavily until 2am. Watching QI on Dave for two hours then my xmas prezzie Alan Partridge DVDs, even funny when you're almost out of it. Finished with a huge glass of port, but unfortunately fell asleep holding said beverage. Woke suddenly completely drenched. Had to wash the sofa covers and dry them before my beloved returns. Have managed to get the job done, wouldn't think owt had happened. Haven't yet washed my black T shirt and joggers which caught some of the port splash back, can't see the stains, but I do smel like a well seasoned Chrismas cake. :D

Some of the port spillage was in the groin area I hope it wasn't "Cockburns"

yes ami I can just see you cleaning up:rotfl:

It's good, but there is a house a few miles from us with the full monty - lit-up reindeer in the garden, lights galore, so tacky but on a grand scale that makes it amazing.

Anyway,  on-topic alert:eek:  , for anyone who wants to know how the money got paid (source: Guardian, sorry ST ;) )

Despite warnings that the Icelandic government was not prepared to step in to compensate savers, it has agreed to pay the first £18,000 that people lost, with the FSCS topping this up to £50,000 and the UK government covering sums above this amount to make sure no savers lose money.

sesnsible point even for the Guardian!!

Ha Ha! Christmas has been very nice and relaxed. Ipod sounddock is fantastic! Boxing Day also very pleasant, only marred by Arsenal giving away a 2-0 lead against Aston Villa. Today went with daughter, niece, other daughter and friend and dog to Camber Sands (very cold but lovely and sunny), then for fish and chips in Rye. Unfortunately promised daughter I'd collect boyfriend from Stansted Airport after his skiing holiday (obviously wrong sort of Old Etonian - where's the chauffeur-driven limousine?). So that's a 3 hour round trip tonight.

Hope all is well with everyone. Happy New Year!

One of my nephews has just become the 1st member of our family to go to Oxford Uni (not a gargantuan achievement as remember there are tons of us around), and yes now he's into rowing big time...oh such a cliche isn't it?! :D

I wasn't talking the same language - thinking back to my (non-Oxbridge) Uni days I enquired "how is your kitchen group?". He said "I don't know what you're taking about" before squashing me like the pathetic ant that I was.....
(I should have remembered they get slaves..I mean butlers.... to prepare meals for them).

    Bitter, moi? :rotfl:
