Happy Xmas all :A For anyone tempted by the sales and thinking of rushing out and replacing their perfectly good ol' tv with an LCD one, please read the following actual review of a purchase including a warning about the HYPE surrounding LCDs....

"I pondered, hesitated, procrastinated, worried ...then made the decision based on price and features. This took me a year all in as I watched the prices tumble until I finally decided to take the plunge into the world of LCD. The problem with me is, I like to see progress and to be honest over the year I passed our local shop and looked at the picture on all the big name LCD's and thought "not as good as my old (13yr old) CRT telly".
And that is what stopped me buying, and you know, I was right not to. Don't get me wrong, this is a good LCD telly I'm sure of it. It's bright, good contrast with excellent blacks, follows the action well without ghosting reasonable sound, menus give good range of options but.... unless you have full HD content you can't be truly happy with any LCD over the good old CRT. So in a nutshell, a very good buy value for money wise but, don't be fooled by the hype.. LCD can't compete with CRT yet!"
