    Forgot to mention, on Friday there was a great "comedy connections" on Dad's Army and our ice-saver motivator Corporal Jones (Clive Dunn) was still giving very lucid interviews, 88 and going strong!

    yep st, interesting stuff, had assumed he'd (attempt to) go the distance but I guess it's possible early election might be on the cards. I agree that the VAT drop was a silly move, but not necessarily that he directly encouraged people to borrow more on their equity (the FSA may be more culpable in not looking at lenders books more closely - and has admitted its failures with Northern Crock). Trouble with the tabloids is that they don't have a great deal of ...ahmmm...."balance" to their arguments. Though the sun's headlines can be very, very funny!
