All the best, everyone, and very best of luck. (((hugs))) Knowing my luck, the one time I allow extra in my budget, I'll come waaaaaaaay under it
Let's see though... Normal weekly shops (hopefully) on the run up to the big day, incorporating a little more than usual so I don't have to visit the supermarket on the days immediately before. I hate huge amounts of crowds, so I'll be doing my utmost to get the normal shopping as well as the extras all in before the 15th
So yes, I think I already stated my goal for December as being £180.00 but there it is again.Good luck, everyone!!
Continually trying the Grocery Challenge. Gotta keep trying!0 -
I'm being easy on myself with the £130 target, due to xmas etc.I will be out for xmas day, but will get some goodies in for the week, veggie ones of course:D
Hopefully not spending anything today, as am being extra strict:o

Right I blew the budget last month. But I'm going to give it another go this month. Both my freezers are crammed to busting and thanks to two mammoth orders from approvedfoods my cupboards are the same.I'm posting by budget at £450 for this month and I really should come in under budget as I find its only fresh stuff I will need during the run up to and during xmas
Fingers crossed that this month I can come in on if not under budget

Hi everyone
A nice shiny new thread I see. I might not post much but I love to lurk. He He
Anyway can I declare £442.31 and £346.67 for extras.
Can I have £400 groceries and £500 extras as my new budget because it's Christmas and DH has got a new job.
have a good month everyone

I'm already a week into this pay month, but I'd love to join this challenge. All my little trips to Mr Tesco have been seriously damaging my finances. I'm pretty sure that if I can get my 'grocery' budget under control, the rest will follow!
I've already spent £37.77 since pay day (heaven knows on what!).
Can you put me down for a budget of £115 per month - thats £3.50 per day until December 18th for me and the dog! Definitely a challenge, but easily do-able if I put my mind to it! I'd like to get down to about £85 per month really.
My 'grocery' budget includes food for me, dog food (plenty left for this month), meals bought outside the house, wine(!) and household goods (cleaning and toilet rolls etc).0 -
I am in for a bit more this month - £250 please. Plus we also intend to use our Nectar points (about £50 worth) to buy the bird, the ham, the smoked fish for Christmas Eve stew, smoked salmon for Boxing Day breakfast... And hopefully, a bottle of something cool and bubbly !
My first spend of December included £5 for 24 rolls of Charmin in Asda, a £0.40 whoopsied packet of bacon that's good to go until mid-December, and some bashed-about soda crystals and baking powder - also down to 40p each. I am pretty much planned out until Christmas (then we switch to leftovers) - and have most of the food in for the evening meals already. I do, however, have to restock on flour, pasta and rice - all of which have gone up significantly since the last big store-cupboard shop.0 -
Put me down for €300 again Mrs MC please, haven't yet posted November final figure, but it will be €300 as I spent anything I had left on Christmas stuff...hopefully that will save me in December.

Ooooh a new thread! Brill!
I'm down at £75 for december, which inclued £25 for the xmas shop (my mum and dad are putting £25 to it too).
Have been to MrT this morning to get essentials like flour, milk, butter, cheese and yoghurts and did remarkably well! Won't need to shop for at least 2 weeks now, and even then it'll only be for things like milk and cheese
Will update signature in a minute with December GC target & spend so far0 -
Please put me down for £332 this month. My November target was £200 for 4 weeks and I managed to just come in under budget :j which I have posted on the November Challenge Thread - this month I am aiming for £200 for the 4 weeks (not including Xmas week) plus £132 for Xmas food (2 big family days - want to try and eek this out a bit)
Wish me luck - Hubby thinks the food I buy isnt very interesting - so thats my extra task for December - under budget and interesting- looks like I am going to have to do a lot of research here. He doesnt seem to grasp the concept of keeping food costs down. (thats my moan for the day)
