So confused re games consoles

The Wii is perfect for the family, but the novelty does wear off soon - you see the adverts of the family jumping around the front room playing tennis etc, but after your arms tire (and trust me, they will), you'll end up sitting down, flicking the controllers like a regular game... and if that should happen, you'll come to realise that the Xbox 360 and PS3 are both so much better.
Visually, they can't be touched, both supporting high definition, and the mainstream games (sports, platform) are designed with these consoles in mind.
The PS3 goes that bit further by having the advantage of a built in Blu-ray dvd player, but you'll pay £100 more than an Xbox for the pleasure.
If it's family fun, the Wii is perfect. It's the cheapest & has a good balance of fun and educational games. If you want a games machine with graphics to match the times, I say Xbox 360 (but then I have one so I'm biased). If you want to plan ahead for High Def movies, the PS3 is the one.
Confused? Then my work here is done...
P.S. If you do go for an Xbox, make sure it has a hard drive (in other words, avoid the Arcade version)0 -

Not sure how soon the novelty wears off but the Wii is still popular here after 14 months.
I do have a friend who bought a PS3 purely for the HD capability. He doesn't own or play any games on it at all0 -
I'm with mymatebob, the Wii gets plenty of use in our house still. BTW there's hardly any difference in price between the Wii and the Xbox 360 now so if the Wii is still selling well (and it is) it's not selling on price. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
