Tell me about it
Well - I start early... (what's that, you weren't being literal?)
I always find myself feeling down in the dumps/grumpy after a few days off and the day was made worse by the discovery that a colleague is leaving after a mere 6 months due to office politics and the fact that very little seems to get done in the civil service!
Death by consensus is the order of the day - I will stick with my cookery classes and save up to open my own business and get out of there.... In the meantime, however, I'll just need to put up and shut up - it's not a terrible job and we are in the middle of a recession!
Will need to finish up early today as I have a lot of housework to wrestle with before the weekend and I also need an early nightNot liking the fact that my reviewing income dried up almost overnight - feels like I've not had an Amazon voucher in ages

I'm sure it is!
Chef school was cracking fun today - lots of professional looking vegetable cuts (fancy!), 40l pots of chicken stock, lots of funny banter and the honour of our trio having the best lentil soup of the dayWiped out now, but it's getting easier each week...

Thanks Maya - we were an odd bunch - a {Lithuanian?} professional chef, a grumpy Londoner with a heart of gold and an eager Scottish foodie librarian (me!)Did you get all your housework done?
Unfortunately not Doodles, but just have to wipe down the sink/bath/surfaces and sweep the bathroom floor now. Is this the holiday you booked for DD and you a while back, or something else?0 -
This is just a weekend away with my family, just four days by the coast. Nothing too exciting but darn site better than being here doing housework :TProud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

Things sound like they are going really well, Ed. I hop you carry on loving Chef School. However, you must realise that there is one drawback...you will now be my victim of choice when I have culinary questions to ask! Please call me 'Pickle'

Amen to that!you will now be my victim of choice when I have culinary questions to ask!
Ask away - my twin hats of librarian and chef leave me eminently placed to Google the answers
Roast chicken with white miso and parsley butter, mashed potatoes with butter and rosemary, red cabbage with red wine, honey, cinammon, pepper and vinegar and steamed kelp for tea tonight.... mhhhh.0
