I'm not sure about the offer in this flyer that the OP got, but the rules for the online offer for the First Direct BANK account are you have transfer your income for a £50 bonus. I can't find any info that says you have to deposit a certain amount, just to transfer your salary. You have to deposit £1,000/month for the high interest rate, otherwise it's just 0.1%.

First Direct also offer a cheque account, could this be what the OP's offer is for? Or is it an old flyer? It sounds like the offers they were running before Martin schemed them out of lots of money.

I am probably getting muddled with my own First Direct account which I thought was the same as the one the offer is for, as mine is called a "bank account" and they ran a similar incentive when I opened it. You are right about the £1000 being to get the higher interest rate. In my case the £25 bonus arrived 5 days after I put money into the account, but it was a couple of years ago. Didn't mean to confuse anyone!
